Ok so a couple of months ago i went with a v2 starter kit and then added a few batteries from v4l and one of their tanks. I just ordered a dial-a-volt from them as well. After doing a little reading on here I seem to be getting the wrong stuff. I dont knwo what an ego is or anything like that but im looking for the best set up i can get. Im a little confused of the types of tanks/cart/atomizers. Is what im using now a 510? Thanks in advance! PS also i use liquid from gingers ejuice. the carolina blend and would love suggestions on somewhere cheaper thats tastes as good.

Welcome to ECF.

What are looking exactly? Do you want something that looks like a cigarette? Or can it be bigger? An eGo will look like a sharpie marker. AltSmoke.com | Personal Vaporizers | Electronic Cigarette | Ecigs | eGo Ecig Starter Kit | Best electronic cigarettes| Cigarettes Electronic| Cigarette Electronic Cigarette| Best Electronic Cigarettes | Electronic Cigarettes

It can be quite confusing at first but once you get started it's not really that bad. It's a matter of seeing the items and holding them things start to get clearer.

Also what kind of budget are on? Do you need inexpensive or do you want to fork out cash for high end mods?

Answering these will help us help you more.

Welcome! Figuring out what the best setup for you is, is your own journey. That being said, whatever works, works. eGo is a very popular way for many new vapers, it's how I got off smoking. But any of those devices will work just fine. I haven't used those models, so can't tell you if they are a 510 connection, but someone will chime in who knows.

Mt Baker vapor is really cheap, and they have great stuff that is very customizable. Good luck and don't give up!

For me the best setup was a Variable Voltage (VV) but now I have 2 VV's a Provari and an Ego twist 1000mah and a VW Variable wattage Ego VW and I also have a 1000mah Pass-through. The Ego twist was my first battery and that was in Aug of last year and it is about to give up the ghost soon. My fav batteries are the Provari 2.0 full size with the extender for big batteries and my Ego VW. The advantage in the bigger APV's is that you can replace the batteries as that is the high failure item in PV's in my experience. For an Atomizer I prefer the Vision Vivi Nova and Rebuildables. Rebuildables or RBA's are not for the newbie though. Flavors are to subjective so I will leave that adventure in discovery for you to experience. LOL
Advantages in having a VV is that you can pretty much use any atty. The VW's variable wattage are really nice because you set the desired wattage and no matter what resistance atty you use it will give you that wattage (within reason).
Hope this helps welcome to ECF and here are some things that may help you too.

I will do another post on very useful threads.

My issue with vaping was that I too wanted something that looked and felt like a cigarette. After a very short time I accumulated multiple cig looking batteries...had constant issues--dead battery, non working battery, etc...then troubles with the flavor of the cartridges. I quickly made the change to ego--but still had issues with flavors....I took the dive and bought a provari with a tank, it is much smaller than it looks in photos. It is not the size or feel of a cig--but I love it. It has a nice reliable battery. The tank provides me all day, no fiddle with it comfort and I am trying a number of juices....The ego is a good start, but you can quickly spend a lot of money on them....if you are a very heavy smoker, I would recommend just going straight to somethign like the provari--I was told similar advice and didn't follow it and have spent a small fortune over the past month...with the vivi nova tank, you fill it up and you probably will make it through a good portion of the day, and maybe even all day with one device....however, I do carry my backup with me....I do not trust myself to pick up a pack of cigarettes if anything should go wrong.

If you would like an ideal mid-level setup under $100, you can follow the recommendations in this link:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/new-members-forum/369128-what-kit-start-2.html#post8306912

If you are ready to jump up to an even more advanced setup that uses removeable, rechargeable batteries such as a "mod" or advanced personal vaporizer (APV), then we can make further recommendations.

For a crash course on available and common juice delivery devices to put on batteries, follow this link:

Thanks guys. Im not really stuck on the real cig style batteries it was just all i knew about when i ordered. i can say that they worked for me and went from 2 packs a day to not one since they came in the mail. I ordered the v4l dial a volt to try then i started looking around and saw all these other types that it has my interest. money isnt a huge problem if it lasts. my main problem is the carts and tanks i have been using from v2 or v4l. I will order a vivi nova tank and try it. Im just tired of always having to take apart and clean the leaks or not being able to get a hit cause something is messing up. ready to spend some money and make it easier i guess.

Hello fellow Bama'ian,

From what I gather the Dail-A-Volt is an 808 threaded device which is similar in function to my Vision Spinner. You can pick up an 808 to 510 adapter from a supplier and you'll be good to go.

All Vivi Nova's are 510 threaded as is the norm from what I've gathered here recently.

A 808 to 510 thread adapter is listed bellow:
808 to 510 adapter [gotvapes-808to510-adapter] - $3.99 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more

Good luck, and now that you've discovered this forum, you have a wealth of knowledge needed to succeed!

Your V2 and V4L are 808 threaded. Vivi's use a 510. You could get a 808/510 adapter but I really don't think the V2's will be a good match ith a clearo that large. I started with V2 as well and have 16 of their batts. I since have added a eGo twist VV, a kGo VV and a Vamo VV/VW. I love my Vivi but just use it with the larger style batts.

To tell the difference between 808 and 510 batts, look at your threads. The threads on a 808 will be "outies" while the threads on 510's are "innies" or recessed. Exact opposite for the carto/clearo/tank. Hope that made sense, lol.
