Need help on RDA

Sorry if this is the wrong area for this, if it is please move me where I need to be.
Anyways I have an MVP 2 and i ordered an IGO W so while I'm waiting I got some 30 gauge kanthal wire and I picked up some sterile cotton from CVS. I boiled the cotton and now it looks like a small wet shirt. I'm just wondering:
1. What the cotton should look like? (Have I done something wrong)

2. Is sterile cotton ok to vape without boiling?

Any help is much appreciated!

let the cotton DRY out, it will look like cotton again. I use sterile cotton and don't boil it, also use Q-tip cotton and it works as good or better than sterile cotton IMO..thats me...

I've been having good luck with cellucotton. It's easy to build, wicks very good, and doesn't taste funny. You can get it at beauty supply stores. It's basically a long cotton rope.

Organic can be used without boiling, you will have a cotton taste to it for a while but it goes away quite fast. sterile cotton is already boiled at 300 degrees so you should be fine with what you have. when its all dry just pluck from it and wick away.
