If I ever buy another charger (I have the Nitecore Intellecharger but I may need a 4 bay once we get into charging for two people....) I have a feeling I'm going to go try and "check" some out in a store to see what I like best. It's so subjective. My nitcore is fine but it takes a little babying with the slides... I'd really like to find out what has the best "feel" to me when inserting and removing batteries, even if it takes a little more effort :) I know some vape shops carry them, but surely electronics/hardware stores too....

i got an xtar vc4, works great but you have to have a decent usb power source or it wont work at the full 0.5a on all 4 batteries if you dont

You have to have your own wall wart for it? I never knew that. My Nitecore has a standard 110V plug for the wall. No extras required.

++ on babying with the slides, they taught me how to re-wrap batteries.

FWIW, the nitecore intellicharger can charge all the 20--whatever number batteries. It's one of the few chargers that has a chance at reviving a "discharged" battery (not that I ever would try, that's dangerous!!!!!!!) it's actually pretty excellent overall except for those slides, which are fine once you figure out the gingerness needed for insertion and removal.

There's no "special best" charger in my opinion, just the one that suits you best.

it just shipped with a usb cable, not an issue though as i had plenty of usb plugs laying around from various phones etc, its always nice when the usb cable is detachable

What didn't you like about the Xtar?

Couple things.

As mentioned above it doesn't come with a plug. IMO and for my money thats stupid and unacceptable.

Also the screen is full of whizz bang and gee whiz but hard to find what matters like say voltage maybe??

My Efest Luc6 is great. Zero complaints. All the info I need and no stupid whiz bang crap. I'm not 15, just tell me the important stuff.

Nitecore is pretty good. The fancy ones give the important info without alot of drama and the cheaper ones light up when done which is enough for how I use that one. I will say the smaller Nitecore 2 bay uses what can only be haybine springs, get a workout with that one.

All these chargers work fine with 700 series batteries.
