Hi everyone. I used to be a light smoker but now I'm out of the loop, especially with these e cigarettes. I would love to buy some sort of starter kit for my boyfriend's birthday, but I have no idea where to start. All I know is that I've heard bad things about the brand Smoking Everywhere, which would be the most easily accessible for me to buy, but that doesn't really matter.

If it's any help he isn't too heavy a smoker, and smokes an average of 3-6 a day. He smokes Marlboro menthol's so I was wondering if there are any good brand e-cigs with a similar taste, or refill liquids, etc. I'm not too well informed on this all... so I'd really appreciate some help :) Thank you in advance!

Welcome to the forum. Glad you found us. We have many reputable suppliers for juice and equipment here on this forum.

I use: Liberty Flights USA
E-Liquid and Electronic Cigarette Shop - Category Listings and I highly recommend them. When you get your cart loaded, there is a place to put in a discount code. But in ECF and you will receive an immediate 20% discount. Your total order ships for just $2.99 from Liberty Flights.

They have eGo's and Riva's. I recommend the eGo set or the Riva 510 set. The eGo and the Riva 510 will provide him with hours of vaping before the batteries need to be recharged. The kits include the recharging equipment.

He will also need some juices. If he is not a real heavy smoker, I would think a 12mg nicotine juice should be a good place to start. Do not order a super large bottle of juice. He may not care for it. It can take people a little shopping around before they find juice they really like. Who wants a big bottle of juice they don't care for?

Please consider ordering an extra atomizer or two for the ecig you are buying him. ecigs won't work without the atomizer.

So you need to look at:
ecig kit
some e-juice
a couple extra atomizers

This would be most basic to get him started on vaping.

Hope this helps,
Happy Vaping.

If you go here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/
and scroll quite down the page you will come to a section called Forum Suppliers. You will find a huge listing of suppliers. These suppliers are checked out by the people who run this forum and proven to supply good products, at reasonable prices, and good service. There are too many for me to list, but you can see them for yourself. I highly recommend you stick with one of the suppliers found here in ECF forum.

Atomizers: when you activate the battery, the atomizer heats up. Atomizers require a cartridge or a drip tip. Cartridges are refillable and with a drip tip, you simply drip a few drops of e-juice into the atomizer. So you actually have two pieces. A atomizer..... and a Cartridge.

Cartomizers are a one piece unit. They include the atomizer and have, for lack of a better explanation, a built in cartridge. You put the juice into the cartridge and they are refillable too.

You need one or the other. Maybe get him a couple of each?? Let him play around and see which one he likes the best.

You are an awesome girlfriend to do all this research for him. He is a lucky guy. Hope he knows how lucky he is !!! LOL

If he's not a heavy smoker you could also look into a regular 510 or a KR808D-1, too.

Getting extra atomizers is a good idea because they don't last forever. Some people only get a couple of weeks out of them, others get a few months. No one can tell you exactly how long they'll last. Atomizers are used with cartridges that hold the juice. Cartomizers are an all-in-one piece. I would suggest getting a few of those just to see which he'll like better. You're also going to need some juice for refilling. I would get at several 5ml bottles in different flavors so he can try them out. About 30ml total should work to start out.

There are many different juice vendors, but when I buy juice I get it from either VaporBomb or Gourmet Vapor.

unforunately i have no advice as far as wut to get ur bf, because ive only tried the cheap $20 xhale02 brand from the 7-11 in my area, just ordered a 510 joye but it won't be here for a few days, however i do kno that if u get the right one theres a good chance he will like it and hopefully quit smoking and switch to vaporizing entirely.

Madvapes has an 808-D for 10 dollars. Woman of heart, can you confirm if the 808-D is the same as a KR808. If it is, it would be perfect for a gift with 808 cartomizers prefilled with menthol from V4L and an extra battery from there as well. You can't get more user friendly and affordable than that for a light smoker it would be an awesome start, imo. If you go with a Riva or eGo, I would recommed the eGo-T as it is much easier for a new vaper to fill a tank and go with it rather than fiddling with the atty/cartridge which rarely work well for anyone.

I'm not that nice, I actually have to much fun shopping for anything (and for loved ones, of course!) and learning about everything. Heard about this forum being a great place so I just came to look around. Who knows I might get curious about e cigs for myself too...

So far I'm looking into the eGo and the Joye 510 mostly. The Joye looks closer to a real cig, so my personal aesthetic views are leaning towards that. As for liquids I'll look into a few for now from whichever brand I buy from.. but for later on, depending on what he ends up liking, I'll look into some brand specific liquids. Does that sound about right?

I can't wait for him to have these... yet I'll probably be the one more knowledgeable about it than him. He'll probably be lazy with something like this, so I'll have to be the one learning.. which again is fun. Thanks to everyone else's tips. I'm finally starting to understand all this craziness a bit more! It's fun, since everyone is really into it :)

dont worry about looks you want a nice amount of vapour and a sensation in the back of your throat just like a real smoke if you are not on a tight budget get a pure smoker v3 the batterys are easy to get and much much cheaper it has no electronics to go wrong and the main bulk of it is hidden in your hand when using just like any e cig. I'ts not cheap but he will love you for it and his buddies will want to buy one to i can assure you.
