Alright...I can't wait to ask this question, lol. I'll try to ask my questions without making it seem boring. I just recently received my iTaste MVP 2.0, and admittedly, I really don't understand the difference with variable voltage/wattage. I've checked out some recommended youtube videos, and all they seemed to do was confuse me. So perhaps somebody can break it down into layman terms for me here.

I went from a Kanger mini protank with a ego variable voltage battery, and that worked for me for a while. When I got the iTaste, I put the mini tank on it, and admittedly, I'm having a hard time getting a good draw, and the vapor production isn't what I am used to seeing, even at 5 volts. I don't like messing with the wattage, because I don't fully understand it. I screwed on the iClear 30 that came with the MVP, and it tastes wonderful and gives me what I was expecting.

So is it because of user error that I'm having issues with using the mini tank on the MVP?

Think of resistance, voltage, and wattage as being a triangle. They're all dependent upon each other - change one and the other two change.

This is because of Ohm's Law. As consistent as gravity, it's the law of physics our hobby/lifestyle lives by. Every time you fire that mod, Ohm's Law is working. Your experience will only be good if you adhere to it.

Learn about Ohm's Law and how it applies to vaping; specifically the resistance of your atomizer, voltage of your battery, and wattage you're running and how it all fits together to give you a great vape.

Firstly, can you tell us the ohms in each?
Try backing the tank off 1/4 turn to let more air in...?????

actually the opposite. you need block off air. issue with the protanks especially the mini is its too airy of a draw which doesnt allow enough liquid to enter the atomizer chamber hence why your getting low vapor production and perhaps some nasty dry hits. protanks are notorious for these issues your not alone. been buying protanks since v1 and i have yet to get a consistent vape off them.

here is a video that explains it well.

Cool, not arguing, but what he said was:
I'm having a hard time getting a good draw,
So I guess that could be interpreted the other way too. I assumed it was too hard to draw. But maybe too airy.

There's a lot of unknown variables yet. I'm sure all the great people here will talk him through the issues (wicking, air-flow, watts...all +/-) It's almost always about adjusting one of the "three W's"...Wicking, Wind (air flow), Watts.

No problem Deval... it's a real common misconception.

I never had that misconception, and I'm actually a bit sad about that Would've been quite fun to fiddle around and believe that it's more complex than it really is. Waiting for the mod that takes into account and lets you adjust for humidity, speed of planetary rotation relative to the temperature, your eye colour, preference in toothpaste, and so on

Heh, not quite that complex :) It seems to be a combination of Watts (check Ohms vs Resistance in various tables), plus your preferred amount of air draw. I'm running with SmokTech AROs and Aspire ET and Aspire Mini-Nova, and they all differ. The amount of air draw affects my preference of wattage, as it turns out. For the Aro with a 1.8 Ohm coil on an Ego battery, I like 3.8V for most juices. On an eVic with an Aspire Mini-Nova, again at 1.8 Ohm, I like 3.6V. The ARO is more airy than the Aspire Mini-Nova. So play around with it, since my preferred vape may well differ from yours.

Hello, I am New too but I will try to help.
First the difference between VV and VW is easy, variable voltage controls the power from your battery and variable wattage well that controls the power from your battery.

Hmmm, Well they do lol
The best quote I seen on here and I looked and can't find it right now, is "That the both do the same but VV is like a car with a standard transmission and a VW is a car with a automatic transmission. The VW mod will remember your setting no matter if you change tanks and the ohms change."
Man I hope I didn't screw that up. lol But I think that's how it goes.

I use this Chart to help me I hope it helps you too.

I just did a Google search for Vaping Volt Chart and a bunch came up.

I have a MVP 2.0 and I think it has a design flaw in it. I have trouble getting tanks to work on it except for the iClear 30 that came with it and a iClear 30s that came with my iTaste VTR. To get one of my cartomizer tanks to work I have to pull down the pin and not tighten it on to tight, Even other iClear 30's don't want to work on it.

Did you try to take apart your protank and try to clean it? I don't know I am just reaching here lol.
I am sure the Veterans on here could solve your problem.
Well I hope I helped even if it's a little. SO many people on here have helped me and I am trying to return the favor.
Good Luck Keep on Vaping :vapor:

Good thread for me...

I try really hard to keep it simple...and still have a "enjoyable" vaping experience. My goal is to help others sucessfully transition from
Smoking to vaping. This isnt always an easy task. I truly dont know how I ...personally...stuck with it. Concidering the crap I waded through to finally discover a simple system that works for me. But...alas...my answer isnt for everyone.

This thread has inspired me to start a youtube channel and try and share a simple..inexpensive...and effective method for a newbie to be
Sucessful in the transition. TRY being the operative term here....because different folks have different expectations and different goals pertaining to vaping...just looking around in this forum clearly demonstrates that.

I think a person has to ask him/herself what they are trying to achieve. It seems one popular goal (it seems) is to see who can make the biggest cloud of vapor....And who can spend the most on mods and stuff. Thats cool...I guess. But there are others ...like me...that just want to comfortably and affordably stay off the tobacco poison...feel better...and not be obnoxious about it.

I truly enjoy vaping now. I also enjoy mixing my own juice...wrapping my own coils...saving tons of dough ...and helping others get off ...and stay off tobacco.
And what ever works for you in that vein is all good.

I agree, my goal was to save money and get off tobacco for good. I've also helped my coworker's wife and son get off tobacco by selling them (cheaply I might add) my old setups each time I upgrade. I am just happy to not get out of breath walking up my steps everyday. But to each his own, not here to bad mouth anyone or put anyone down. Just like everyone else I still have questions and concerns that I am finding help with on here. Happy vaping
