Ok guys and gals..

Most of you are way more talented and more knowledgeable than I.

To that end, it has been suggested many times that I offer a better idea of what goes with what in terms of ohms and coils for tanks, cartos and battery compatibility.

I am offering a 40.00 Store credit to the person who comes up with the most comprehensive and accurate listing on ohms, resistance and how they work together.

I know I have a basic resistance page on my website and it covers a lot but it is missing crucial details.
END USER EASE OF USE, I don't want people having to figure it all out, a lot of us don't have the time to read a guide and "figure it out" or use an ohms calculator (including me) :)

I am looking for this:

Two individual lists.

List One - Cartos and coils:
(single and dual coil 1.25, 1.5, 1.6, 1.7, 2.0, 2.2 2.5, 3.0, 4.0, 5.0 etc )

Example:
The Single coil 2.0 ohm carto is best used on a xx (device) with voltage between xx and xx and will not work on xx
The Dual coil 1.5 ohm carto is best used on a xx (device) with voltage between xx and xx and will not work on xx
for each ohm and coil rating.

List Two - Batteries:
(Standard 510, High mAH 510-T, eGo 3.2, eGo 3.7, eGo-T, Go-go, ProVari, other VV Devices)

Example:
An eGo 3.7v Battery will work with the following coil ohm combos
A Variable Volt Lava will work with the following coil ohm combos

I will use what is provided and insert this information into each item listing, so for instance on my Dual Coil 2.0 ohm Tank replacement item details page I'd like to add:

1. This works best at xx Volts
2. Can be used at xx Volts
3. Does not work at xx Volts

and I will do the same for all my batteries and devices.

I am not asking for anyone to rewrite my pages, just supply the information and I will disseminate.
The list itself is fine but if you are knowledgable enough to add comments like "this will be a warmer vape" or things of that nature, please do :)

For someone with a great knowledge of electronics, this should be easy, in fact I am sure the info is already out there somewhere, probably on ECF right now.

Four things to keep in mind:
1. It MUST be accurate, safety is paramount.
2. DiscountVapers gets to use the information anyway I wish on the website and in the forum.
3. It doesn't matter to me where the info comes from as long as I am allowed to use it without worrying about someone complaining that I "stole" it.
4. Send the lists to me at eric @ gormly . com

40 bucks isn't a lot, but it's something, so if someone has the time, it's a good deal I think.

RULES to qualify and receive the prize credit:
Please post your interest in doing this here in the thread if you are going to attempt it to qualify for the credit, I don't want 10 people sending me their hard work only to be disappointed that someone else beat them to it and they wasted their time. Submissions will be accepted in the order they are declared here.

One caveat, your information will also be posted here after I have accepted the "winner", if serious flaws are found the prize will be rewarded to the next person who provides proper info. This is important as this information will be used to make purchasing decisions and leaves me on the hook for faulty information.

This idea came to me this morning trying to answer a question on a "what do I use for 4.8 volts?" email.
so this is for selfish reasons also, as I just don't have the time to keep figuring this all out and I'd rather not send them to a chart or a webpage to figure it out on their own.

Thanks for your interest. :2cool:

Eric, while I applaud your intention and willingness to protect your customers, I feel like there are sooo many variables with each and every device that it would entail going through every product and saying what ones opinion of each piece is. Basically, you could break it down with a simple statement that VV devices will be best suited with higher resistance atties/cartos with the exception of DCs which handle higher voltage, but pull more amps from the power source. 3.7v devices will be best suited with 1.25-3ohm atties/cartos with higher resistance sacrificing heat in the vapor. I'm unsure of all the devices, so this is just my opinion on general ranges of everything.

You have quite a task ahead to edit every listsing and I applaud your efforts! Great service you provide, as well. Thank you!

I am looking for generics.. much like you said

eGo 3.7 encompasses the entire line of 3.7v Devices that have the name eGo attached, so it would work for a Riva as well if it were 3.7 and similar mAh

I should have probably been more clear, I am looking for a cheat sheet of sorts. Not every device to every carto.
My wording isn't very well put :(

eGo 3.2 works well with
eGo 3.7 works well with
510 Standard 180mAh works best with
510-T 280mAh (+) works best with
LavaTube works best with

1.25 SC Cartomizers works best on xxV devices or xx Voltages
1.5 SC Cartomizers works best on xxV devices or xx Voltages
1.7 SC Cartomizers works best on xxV devices or xx Voltages
2.0 SC Cartomizers works best on xxV devices or xx Voltages

1.25 DC Cartomizers works best on xxV devices or xx Voltages
1.5 DC Cartomizers works best on xxV devices or xx Voltages
1.7 DC Cartomizers works best on xxV devices or xx Voltages
2.0 DC Cartomizers works best on xxV devices or xx Voltages

Like that...it's actually not that many line items.
I will adjust from there, I just need a working base.

I just want to protect someone from buying a dual coil 1.25 and running it on a 3.2v eGo and wondering why it works poorly or killed their battery.

Hey Eric -

I think your idea is with good intentions but will be very tough to (a) accomplish, and then (b) maintain (with maintenance presenting the much bigger challenge). If you sliced this issue with Occam's Razor you would realize that people basically require two things:

1. That very popular and well-put-together Safe Vaping Power Chart that is everywhere, and
2. Knowledge of the device combinations (units, cartos, etc.) they are using (not an unreasonable expectation).

As someone who has literally spent years of creating & maintaining data & pivot tables of massive proportions; if I was to attack this from a project perspective, I would simply take the aforementioned chart (it's based in Excel) and fill the columns down with various devices, beginning with the rows just beneath the one that lists the voltages at 6.50 ohms (Resistance). Many devices would be in multiple, and possibly many, columns. I don't see that as a major issue.

This would be the simplest approach, the easiest to maintain in the long-term, and people might actually be able to follow it.

The reality is that all vapers at this point, while maybe not Pioneers, are (at the very least) Early Settlers. With that comes a certain amount of personal responsibility and associative knowledge. I realize that Dodd & Frank might not approve, but it remains an undeniable truth.

To the best of my knowledge, that chart is not copyrighted. Therefore it's an approach that could work with literally no investment. For whatever it's worth, this is my best shot. And, should you decided to use it, I don't want your damn store credit ;-)

But I wouldn't mind if you could manage to turn the clock back and erase Mariano's injury. Just sayin'...

And Eric, as I peruse your Newbie Guide (which, by the way, is great!), you have (kind of) already done what you're asking for - no? I mean, I know we need some hand-holding and all, but you can only be expected to go so far.

Me thinks.

You'd be surprised how many questions I get, like I mentioned this is actually for selfish reasons as well, so I can just list it on the website and be (somewhat) done with it. I am not an expert so I figured a simple list might help, seems like more of a tall order than I expected .

If I had a line on the Dual Coil 2.0 Ohm tank replacement carto page that said:
Works best at x.xV well that would be what I point to all the time.

I know I could do this but my time is so limited now, I don't want to start taking myself away from my family... that's a road I don't want to go down because in the end it's not worth it no matter how successful I may become..

Actually, Eric - no, I would not be surprised. My (too many, now) years of providing products and services to people taught me this much.

If you put a huge sign directly over a door & doorbell that read:
PLEASE DO NOT RING DOORBELL, DAVE IS NOT HERE.

One out of every five people, on average, who approached it would, in fact, ring the doorbell and ask if Dave was there.

So sometimes it's just best to let those emails go unanswered for awhile. And I say that will full knowledge that at least some of those stupid questions, waiting a while to be answered, might well be my own. And I'm OK with that!!! Family first, under all circumstances. I can attest to that, if nothing else.
