alrite so heres the deal: i've tryed building nano coils micro coils.. and the dragon coils.. and im getting NO vapor.. and i've even tryed super nano coils and still no vapor.. sometimes ill get lucky even if i get a normal sized cloud..all the my builds have been from .8 to 2 ohms.. im useing a 28 guage k1 kathal the max raps i've done was 10. could that be the problem? i wanna build a coil that produces alot of vapor but its still safe.. i have a private v2 mod with a trident gold (clone) with 18650 efst batteries 2000mah .. and im useing organic cotton as the wick.. i've tryed rapping around 1 16'ths trill bit and a 5 64'ths.. however i did manage to get 1.8 ohm coil in my fogger clone tank .. any suggestings ? or anything i could be doing wrong? anything can help. i am familuar with the ohms law and my battery specs..

Hmmm, a Trident eh. Built any dual coil set-ups? If not, try this:

  1. Air flow is critical to good RDA performance. If your air holes are under-size, you may wish to drill them out. Most like to start at around 1.5mm (1/16") per coil to obtain a good combination of vapor and flavor. Adjusting the position of the air holes, relative to the coils, will alter vapor/temperature/flavor characteristics.

  2. A pair of 28 ga Kanthal coils, 10 wraps on a 1/16" mandrel for 1.5Ω+/- each, with a net resistance of 0.7Ω+/-. At 0.7Ω+/- you should be fine with the batteries you have. See AP's spreadsheet for reference.
If you choose to go below this resistance, I suggest you obtain some high drains, like the Efest IMR 18650 1600mAh 30 amp, or same mAh in a 24 amp AW IMR. See chart for reference.

  3. Do not over-compress your cotton wick... too densely packed will restrict capillary action - too tightly fit into the coil will restrict flow and reduce retention at the coil. Pulling through the wick should offer little to no resistance. Better the impression of too little than too much or too tight. Easy to do, hard to describe. ;)

  4. You may want to experiment with a thin "bed" of cotton below the wicks and/or a thin "cloud" of cotton above the wick/coil. Not excessive mind you - don't want to cover the coils to the point where you don't have good air flow.
Option would be, if using cotton yarn, to cut sufficient length so that you may wrap excess above and below coil, expecting similar results as the above arrangement of cotton ball fibers.

All I have. :2cool:

Would adding another lil cotton cloud on top reduce the harsh on my throat? I don't think haveing nicatine helps.. Sry forgot to tagg you in the other post.

Not too sure on adding cotton on top would reduce harshness. Perhaps it's juice burning? I think your coil is big enough to try wicking through the coils instead of a bed of cotton. Too much cotton is not always good. In fact less is more usually. Just try different things til you get your desired vape. Kudos to you for wanting to do this safely. :toast:
