I mixed up some Camtel from FA yesterday and when I tried to vape it all I tasted was a horribly strong coffee type taste. I decided to let it set for a day to see if hopefully it would get better but it hasn't. Does anyone have any advice on what I can add to it to calm it down a bit so that I can vape it?

TIA!

Have you tried any other FA tobaccos, or a lot of tobacco flavours or liquids? Because personally, I can't vape most tobacco flavours, including the FA ones. They all contain something - very likely an aldehyde - to which I am oversensitive. Which means they taste like very little else, and like very very very much of my least favourite aldehyde. Vaping plain flavour can't me much worse.

My personal least favourite aldehyde is in all of them (I am the only person I know of with this problem), but of course you could have a similar problem with a less common ingredient.
I don't know if it's an aldehyde or not, but I do know that of the 7 FA tobaccos that I have tried so far, the only one I can vape sensory-wise is Shade. The rest all seem to have the same smell/taste that I find just horrible no matter how low a dilution (a single drop in 3 ml is enough for me to detect, and despise, it) and I end up needing to soak atomizers to get rid of it.

Max from FA throught it was "probably" an aldehyde. He also mentioned that Shade might be one that I could taste better, but it was pretty much the same for me - although it's not the same amount in all. It's also in a few non-tobacco flavours, Oak Wood is beasty.
It's not just FA, either. By now, I can taste it in about every tobacco flavour, except TA.

Maybe you guys are supertasters? I'm curious if you guys have had similar experiences with any non-tobacco flavors. Are chocolates and coffees fine?

I haven't really found a chocolate one that I like; everything seems to taste burned- peanut butter cup, chocolate iced donut, etc. And the coffees all taste too bitter- like Vapor Station's Cafe Sumatra- everybody said it was great but too much it tasted like burned French Roast coffee. And it's funny you should mention that because I noticed that when I'm setting up my coffee for the next day, the smell of the old filter/and oil residue type stuff on the basket of the pot smells a lot like the smell I get from FA's tobaccos.

I don't think I qualify - most other stuff tastes fine, although chocolate of course is one tricky flavour to make. I have a very similar problem with perfumes, though - only very old ones and very, very, very few new ones don't just absolutely stink to me.

yeah thats right. some are very bad :( like the new Oriental of them. this is just awesome

Hide it for a month and retry it...
Boost it up to 8-12%?

I tried really hard to hide it and stay away from it for a month but I just couldn't do it.

The good news though is that you were right!!! I just tried it about a hour ago and have been vaping it ever since. The nasty harsh flavor is gone and it is so freaking yummy :) I like it sooooo much now that I went ahead and made a larger bottle so I can let it sit while I use up this bottle.
