Need Help with first APV purchase!

Hello everyone first post here, just a couple questions that I hope that you guys can help with. I would have posted this under the correct area but alas I am restricted at the moment. I've been vaping Gorilla juice from AVE for almost 4 months now without a cigarette out of one of these e-go 45$ starter kits or whatever. I have gotten a couple different batteries and different tanks and whatnot but I think I am ready to move on to the big boy model. So my friend has a provari and I must say its awesome I want one but its gonna have to wait until after taxes or something. With that being said I'm looking for something decently priced that is a good APV, since I plan on getting the provari at some point I would like it to use the same batteries so I'll have the charger and batteries already. So yea really only vaped the 100% VG from AVE so not sure the best setup for that other than I just switched to a cart because my atomizer were getting clogged from the VG. Thanks for checking this out and thanks if you have any suggestions!

I may as well be first to say it -- Get an MVP 2.0. It doesn't have a replaceable battery, it charges via USB port, and can go 2-3 days before needing another charge. 101vape.com has them for $40. Very nice unit with VV/VW for the price until you save up for the bad boy.

Hi and welcome to ECF. If looking for a budget APV the Vamo would fit the bill. Realize though the quality is hit and miss. It will either:
last for a year
have issues almost immediately
have issues a couple of months down the road
I've owned the V2 for 11 months and button is a little wonky. Have V3 for 5 months and works great.
My fave APV at the moment is the Sigelei ZMAX V3
VV/VW - 101 Vape Flat top or round top- your choice.
When buying batteries and charger make absolutely sure you buy quality from a reputable Vendor- lottsa counterfeits floating around.

MVP 2 or Vamo V5. Depends on if you want a box mod or a tube mod. You can get the Vamo from Fasttech for ~ $30. Both are VV VW.

Cheap is relative. From what I've seen the Vamo series is the most used mod around. Seems like almost everyone has one.

Have both the MVP v2.0 and the Smoktech SID. Both are fantastic APVs. Haven't had a single issue with either aside from a few devices not working on the MVP... if you're looking for a reliable mod that won't break the bank, both are sure bets if you ask me.

For simplicity sake, the MVP is probably the best way to go. I got the 101 vapes kit over a month ago now and for $40 it's so hard to beat price vs performance, plus you get everything you need: MVP, charger, and an iClear 16 to boot.

If you decide to get the SID or other similar (priced) tube mods... pick up some decent batteries like Panasonic CGR18650CHs, MNKEs, or Sony. You don't need the amps on an APV because they don't fire sub-ohm, but quality is still something to be sought after. You want good, high-drain IMR bats. Also get a Nitecore Intellicharger as chargers are another area you don't want to skimp on.

If you really like the provari I would look into the MVP 2 or the itaste vv 3.0 from what I understand they use a similar chipset. So this will allow for a similar vape to the provari.

Just realized you wanted one with batteries that would use in provari these would not fit that they are internal batteries. But with that being said they are responsible in price and provape offers a kit with great batteries and charger for a few dollars more. ( when you reach that point)

I just purchased the big brother to the mvp 2, the iTaste VTR for $79.95 at vape world. It uses external batteries and charger.

I agree- you get what you pay for and even though you will eventually be buying a Provari (excellent choice) always a good idea to have a back up. When I owned a Provari was always worried about taking it out and losing it. Also own the MVP 2 and it's a good APV. My only minor complaint is the button is a tad stiff but other than that it also fits your bill. I just mentioned the ZMAX as it also uses external batteries.

Vamo, and the ZMAX seem to be around what I'm looking for. Same batteries and whatnot, you guys have these models and are happy with them? What tanks would you suggest for 100% VG for these mods? Just trying to find a whole setup so I can order for Christmas for myself. LOL

Just make sure you don't get the SmokTech ZMAX. Stainless Steel is good as it's not a fingerprint magnet and doesn't scratch.

Gotta say also, didn't expect the responses this quick or at all! You people are awesome! It may not seem like much to you but I'm having a anxiety attack just trying to figure out what to get. Just sucks I cant try before I buy so worried about getting something crappy, or flimsy. When your relatively new to the game I felt it was better to come ask some people who had been doing it longer. So thank you everyone, this is helping me alot!

The MVP is certainly a nice affordable mod, which can serve as either a primary or backup PV. I own one and highly recommend them. However, the OP wants a PV that will use the same batteries as his future Provari will use.

Depending upon which Provari you ultimately choose, it will use different size batteries.

• Standard Provari - uses 18490 batteries by default; with battery extension cap (optional) it can use an 18650 battery.

• Mini Provari - uses an 18350 battery by default; with battery extension cap it can use an 18490 battery. With a third party Tatroe Mod extension ring, it can also use an 18650 battery with the extension cap from Provape.

So, you need to determine which Provari model you plan to purchase, and in which battery format you will use it in.

I recommend getting the extension cap with the full size Provari, then you can use an 18650 battery which is the most common battery size and which most mods use.

Making this decision helps you focus on a smaller group of mods in terms of selection. There aren't as many mods which can use 18350 or 18490 batteries.

Regulated mods which use an 18650 battery are plentiful: Smoktech SID/VMax/ZMax/TMax; Innokin SVD/134/VTR; Tesla; Vamo, etc.

Important to Know: The Provari requires button-top IMR batteries.
