Hello, everyone. I have an iStick40w TC box that I'm having trouble with and need help with. The box will not fire any of my tanks or coils. The box will power on/off, the LED works, VV/VW adjusts up and down, menu system works, can change modes, battery charges, but will not fire. Box reads ohms for my tanks and coils. Please help. Box has sentimental value, 2 yrs. old and first box I purchased. Still looks new.

Thanks for any feedback

As good as my isticks are, yeah they can be flaky at times. My only forty didn't make it a year before the battery gave up.

Still good, but my 30 held up better. Now, that's all day-everyday use- so it did well for itself.

I'm just now trying out the Aspire Zelos for a change up. about the same size with different features and 50w if you need that.

I think your mod did well for itself!

Welcome and glad you joined. Try not to screw tank tight into mod. If a tank fires loose, suspect that your mod has reached the end of it's life. I had a 30 w that died like that.

Wow...2 year old Istick that has internal batteries is a great run for that unit. I got several Istick50's that the batteries have tired out and became inconsistent within 6-8 months. They sit in a box so one day I will replace the batteries. They were my first mod purchases and didn't think about internal batteries and after they die rendering the perfectly working hitter useless. I don't buy any gear with internal batts just for their limited lifespan.

If it's reading the resistance OK, and it does fire occasionally - it sounds like the fire button might have become a bit flaky - you could try and clean the contacts with something like isopropyl alcohol and see if that helps.

Who knows - there could be a build-up of finger gunk and/or e-liquid that's preventing the button switch from making good contact.

Make sure you let us know how you get on with it!

Tried cleaning around fire button and firing pin, did not seem to help. Yes the mod reads the resistance, shows volts and watts. Display shows seconds counting up when fire button is pressed but nothing happens with tank and coil.

The power circuits are far more likely to fail than the brains and display. Or the battery, but if the display is staying on and bright during attempts, it's not that. But how do you know the battery charges if you can't do anything that should run it down? If it's going down anyway (within less than a month) the batteries don't look good. If you can turn it off with the fire button, that's working 100%. A test for weak circuitry would be something like 2.4 ohms at 5 watts. A test for intermittentcy would be if it fires powerfully when it does at all.
