Need help with my protoge v1

Hi guys. Hope you can give me some advice here.

I have a protoge v1 with a mechanical switch that I bought used about a year ago. About a week ago I started having trouble with it. it seems that it's not getting power to the atomizer and I can't figure out why. I've taken it apart completely and cleaned all of the contacts on the body, switch, and adapter. The batteries are testing good on my multimeter and it gets power to the end of the switch that shows when you take off the adapter (I stuck my tongue on it ) but the atty won't fire. I also tested my attys and they are fine.

Anyone have any thoughts on what I can do to get this ting working?

Check your spring in the bottom. I've had my V2 quit firing because the spring was not making good contact. I cleaned it and so far it's fired everytime. Have you emailed them about it? They can also give you an opinion as to correcting the problem.

Your adapters brass center pin might not be making contact with the atty. Take your adapter off the body and put it on a hard surface, thread side facing out. Use a punch or something similar and bang the punch with a hammer into the center pin a couple times to push it out a little. I have a v1 also plus all of the adapters (510, 901, 801 and 401) and I had to do this fix on my 510 adapter early on. Good luck.

EDITED: Re-read bikergirl1908's post, and totally agree.

i would ony add that you should be able to conduct the tongue/ tingle test on the center post of the adapter when attached. this will let you know if everything below the atty is working fine, and if there's no tingle but the atty is good, then that center post needs to be tapped up just a tad in order to make proper contact with the atty. the 510 atty can push this center post down just a bit too low to make sufficient contact as it gets tightened on and taken off, repeatedly, especially if the atty is over-tightened on the adapter at some point. but just a tap back up and in place should allow the atty to make the proper contact and remedy the situation provided that current is sufficiently getting to the adapter to begin with.

SOLVED!!!! Turns out my center post was the problem, I was just being too gentle with it and didn't actually move it far enough out. I tried again, and now it works perfectly.
