2 weeks ago a buddy at work hooked me up with a $20 starter kit. My cigs went down 75% that day and have leveled off at 2-3 per day. (I think the reason they aren't yet zero is because I'm still trying to figure out how to dose the nicotine with vaping.)
So how come I didn't know about this nearly effortless way to deal with smoking years ago? (If there is an inventor for this technology he deserves a Nobel prize for medicine.)
When things don't make sense--follow the money. I'm looking for some financial data for the tobacco busines and may be somebody here knows where to look.
It appears that State and Federal government in the US collect $25 billion a year in taxes on tobacco products. Have I got that number right?
I found info that suggests world wide tobacco sales may be in the neighborhood of $750 billion per year. Assuming that number is in the ball park does it include taxes or are taxes in addition to that?
Government and health organizations claim they want to eliminate smoking. In light of ecig technology I'm sure they are liars or hypocrits or both. It appears to me that the humongous amounts of tax money they collect on cigarettes is way more important to them than the public health. That is the best explanation for why they want to interfere with vaping.
Any assistanc with global tax collection numbers would be appreciated.
