Need help with this decision please.

I'm new to vaping and looking to buy a start kit. I'm on a budget of $40-50 and came across this "yeti starter kit"

I've been reading the reviews and most buyers seem to be satisfied, but I'm wondering if you get everything that's needed to start for the base price of $45.

It says inside the box is
2 - Yeti Batteries
2 - Yeti Atomizers
5 - Yeti Cartridges
1 - Yeti Battery Charger & Cord
1 - Yeti Manual

but on the page it has all these "extra" things you can buy which I'm not sure are necessary to get or not.

Regardless if this kit is everything I need to get started, am I getting a good deal or can I get better elsewhere? I really have no idea what to buy and can only spend up to $50

You still will need e-juice to put into your e-cig. Here's a kit that is nearly identical but costs a bit less so you can get some e-juice too:

PS: of the extra items listes on the altsmoke site you may eventually want the extra atomizers and a drip tip.

That looks like a 510 style. They're nice but the batteries only last a couple hours.

I'd recommend a Riva from Liberty Flights for $29.99. You'll need a box of cartomizers so you have the option to drip, use cartomizers or cartridge and atomizer. That will be around $40.00 You'll also need about 30 ml of juice. That might put you over the $50 mark but not by much.

I second Rosa's post. You'll want to get some extra atomizers in the near future for peace of mind, but the only thing you need to add right now is juice. Figure on about 15ml a week and be sure to factor in a few days for shipping so that you don't run out.

Thank you 2 for your help. Rosa, thanks for helping a total noob out, I've decided to go with the kit you linked. So after browsing the site for a little bit I added the $35 kit and and 2 dif 6.5ml liquids to my cart, will this be all I need to get started?

I have to agree with swedishfish on this one.

A few people get a 510 kit, are happy with it and they're done; most are frustrated with the woeful battery life. Also, if you take up dripping (something you should at least try), there's nowhere for excess juice to go but into the palm of your hand.

Getting a 750mAh Riva kit for less than the price of a 510 seems a complete no-brainer to me: Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - Riva 510

Aside from the Lite Bundle ($29.99, which leaves plenty left over for juice), take a look at the Carto Deluxe ($34.99), which includes a case and two Boge cartomizers.

I have a 510 and an ego. I do use the 510 if I go shopping or go to the gym. If it was the only pv I had, I'd go nuts with the batteries. If you don't care about that, it's a great PV. I don't have any complaints about it except the battery life. Batteries don't last long and as they get older they last less and less between charges. You get maybe a few hours with the 510. Ego you get around 6-8

i would say dont waste the money. spend $60 and get a Screwdriver mk2 KIT, YOU GET A BATTERY, ATTY AND CHARGER. those basic 510 kits only last 2-3 hrs, my screwdriver lasts 8+ and i use nothing but low resistance cartos/attys for big hits and lots of vapor. If your interested in vaping its better to "shoot your load" at the beginning on better equipment.

a. I wouldn't spend that much (Cignot.com has no-box real Joye 510 for about $36)
b. buy MANUAL batteries

But yes the battery life of a 510 is at most 3 hours for a light vaper, more typically 2 hours for a moderate vaper. They are 180mah batteries. That's what short slim batteries are - a short amount of time. If you get this model then there is a nice PCC at NoSMokeVA.com (a charging case for on the go) and you should buy chargers for at work.

There are longer 510 batteries - 510 mega xl, 280mh for 60% more charge but long - 128mm long with a cartomizer and a bit longer w/ atomizer+cart as it comes. The only PCC is a less roomy metal one.

I actually use the small 510's and have chargers at work, have the NoSmoke VA PCC and IN ADDITION I carry a charged 750mah Riva 510 battery (both as a battery backup and for some nicer hits)

As another option, look at the ePower; an eGo style PV, but has user replaceable li-ion batteries (14650, 1050 mah). MadVapes has a kit for $46. You can pick up replacement 14650s for ~$5 vs $15 for the eGo/Riva.

For a newbie you may also want to check out the newer Echo unit, it is a no muss no fuss unit that you just fill the 3ml Carto and vape away, available at Cropduster901 dot com check it out, Batts are Auto and its a very reasonably priced kit and you wont get frustrated with using this one like Attys and some of those small 510 kits will do to you

If you haven't ordered already, also let us know what your goal of vaping is. Is it to use when you can't smoke? To get off analogs completely? Just for fun? To eventually get off nic? This might make a difference in what they suggest. I'm a noob and can't give a lot of advice, but I can tell you these wonderful guys and gals have already learned through the school of hard knocks. Listen to them and you avoid the headaches and expenses if money is an issue that most of us went through Is it important to look like a cig at this point? Most of us get past that point quickly, but we are all different and have different stages we must go through to meet our goals.
