need help with ucc-383-adj for a puckish type mod

I just got a order from ti and i need help figuring out how to wire the chip up i have 3 or 4 so i can fiddle with them a bit

I want to us rechargable AA to power it i dont need to much of the hi end for power i just want some help figuring out this chip

The 383 would be better paired with LiOn's than NiMhs. It is a linear regulator, which makes it less efficient, and after a certain threshold between input voltage and output it will stop working.

NiMhs drop in voltage quickly, and it would be better to just use 3 or 4 cells and be happy with what it does. With the regulator they would hit the threshold much quicker.

ya but my plan is to use 8 or 12 NiMhs in a battery pack or a couple Lions i just wanted to mess with the regulator since i have a few and when the batts are fresh and i use my ce2's i end up burning my juice to much unless i pull the seals out so i just wanted to idle it down a bit and have good battery life and have a regulator with a control pin so i can wire it up to a vacume switch
