Hi, just about to learn how to build coils and with that learning about ohms, wattage, etc. Havent had time to grasp all the voltage, wattage, ohms side of these things yet! So far when I have bought something, the store owner has set it up and told me what to keep it at.
:(

Example, on an istick 20w I have a nautilus Mini 1.8ohms and keep it between 8.5 - 9.8 watts and all is well. I have also used the same on an MVP and a couple older older devices i no longer use.

Graduated to a iStick 50w and have a Delta ll on it and was told to keep it between 30w and 40w, but told to keep it at 30w preferably.
After a week I found the sub ohm at 30watt too hard on my throat and put it back to 25w and much prefer it.
(assuming it is safe at 25??!!)

Sooooooo...........

1) Got a new Kangortech Subtank Mini today in the mail and want to apply it to a second iStick 50w. At the moment, just going to use the coils that are pre-made
Subtank Mini: 4.5ml/1.5ohm (12-25W) Am I right to suggest that I can fire it up on this 50w iStick between 30-40 and if it gets too hot put it down to 25w?

2) Bought this Vamo9 clone. Up until now I just used one of a few Aspire Nautilus or the larger tank. It uses 18650 batteries, of which i have the right ones, and a charger, etc.
What I want to verify is that i plan to put the Delta ll on it tonight and am I right to assume I can fire it up as well between 30w-40w but put it down to 25 if I feel it hurts my lungs a bit?
Here, below, are the specs for this clone:

  • Variable wattage - can be adjustable from 3.0W to 40.0W (in 0.5W increments)
  • Atomizer resistance check
  • Puff counter and battery level display
  • Battery reverse polarity, short circuit and low resistance protection
  • Power interruption memory - Memorize previous power settings before power interruption when power resumes
  • Bottom vent hole
  • Laser engraved logo
  • 510/eGo threading connector (brass center pin)
  • Removable beauty ring
  • Compatible with 510 and eGo threaded atomizers with minimum resistance of 0.5-5.0ohm
  • Can be powered by 1*18650/1*18350/2*18350 batteries (batteries sold separately)
  • It can work as a power bank after a 510 to USB adapter is introduced

AND, one last question. IF I was right about the Delta ll being put on this clone at between 30-40w, can I also put the Kangor on it at the same numbers as well?

I just want to make sure i am doing it right and then next Friday meeting up with a friend thats going to show me how to make my own coils, use an ohm meter etc, etc, etc but for now just get these working.
Sorry, to ask if t hese numbers are safe but just want to make sure they are until I have a better understanding of what works with what, etc.
I have already been told that this Vamo clone is safe to use, etc and so far, its been a great piece, so much so i bought a second one that I will be getting on Tuesday but I just want to be positve in the meantime i am not endangering myself since i dont yet understand all the mathmatics behind wattage ohm etc

:vapor: Thanks in advance!!!!

Why the high wattage,I don't sub ohm nor do I care too, that's up to the user, most of us went to vaping to quit smoking, now it's turned into who can vape at the highest wattage and get the biggest clouds,I enjoy the vape as an escape from cigarettes,I get my nic craving and throat hit satisfied just fine at 12 to 15 watt.

I'll just repeat what the others are saying, "start low and work your way up to find YOUR sweet spot". I wouldn't pay a bit of attention to what others say as far as "oh I can vape this tank at this XX wattage". You have to find your own comfort zone, and do it safely. If your vape becomes too warm or starts to taste burnt, back it down.

I'd suggest watching some you tubes on coiling, it's pretty easy in my experience. Also you may want to check out the "Kuro Koiler." I intend on getting one for my own coiling.

Good luck and enjoy your vape journey.
