Thank you! Altho im wondering why is it connecting with my unitank but not with my igo-w?

Good question...the pin on the tank might stick out a bit further than that on the IGO, or maybe it just threads down a little deeper.

When I look at my IGO-W, it has a really smooth and flat positive connection which barely extends below the outer negative threads. To my bare eye, it actually looks 'flush', so it's very little extension there. When I look at my Vivi Novas, and even my kayfun Clones...the center pin pokes out further.

I know I have an old eGo battery of which I sometimes have to lift the center pin to get a good contact with one atty...while another atty mashes it right back down again when tightened.

The IGO-W's center positive pin 'might' be adjustable to some degree. Mine came with a replacement center post and silicon insulator...so that leads me to believe it can be taken apart and perhaps adjusted (have yet to try it). So this might be worth exploring.

If the center pin isn't making contact then the reading should be 9.9, not 0.

the fact that the vamo measures another device at 2.7 ohm, but measures something at 0 ohms, say that that something is shorting out the vamo. if it is not the coil itself that is causeing the short, maybe it is the 510 connector itself.

Yeah it is really confusing me because....

The vamo reads the unitank
The ohmmeter reads the igo-w

But the vamo and igo-w is reading 0 ohms, the vamo reads 9.9 w/o an atty.

If both the igo-w and vamo is paired with a different device they work fine but if i pair the igo-w and vamo it shorts.

I dont have any other APV except for a chiyou but I dont want to risk it.

So take the coil off the igo-w, and put the igo-w on the vamo and measure it; sounds like something on the igo-w connection to the vamo is shorting out the vamo.

Okay, sorry it took me a while to reply, i know i should focus on this since im asking for help but i was studying for a calculus test so i couldnt really mix it up with ohms and stuff.

Anyway, i tried what someone suggested and measured the igo-W without any coils and apparently it reads 0 ohms which means there is a short on my igo-W and not on my vamo.

Any suggestions or solutions to the problem? Maybe I dripped too much juice? Because it happened the night after i got it, i was so impressed by how my juices tastes so much better so i started trying out all my juices and i wasnt sure whether the silica is dried up becuase i dont know how/when to drip since it is my first time and i dont wanna get that burnt/nasty taste and throat hit again.

Maybe you can summarize the problem instead of everybody else trying to decypher the thread

I did.

Vamo reads 9.9 ohms without an atty
Vamo reads my Unitank,
Igo-W is being read by my ohmmeter (with coils)
But my Vamo reads my Igo-W at 0.0 ohms (with and without coils)

So I can't really determine where the short is since the Vamo reads another atty, the Igo-W can be read by my ohmmeter, but when I put the Vamo and Igo-W together it shorts. So i cant really determine what is wrong if im doing something wrong.

My own made coils on the igo-W was also read by my ohmmeter. I changed the coils 4 times because I thought my coils had the short.

The problem happened the day after I got my stuff, I was dripping on my Igo-W on my Vamo then after a couple of uses, it would not fire anymore because it's saying low load. Therefore there's a short happening so I took out the battery and the igo-W from the Vamo and I let it rest for a day, I tried it again the day I made this thread but the result was the same.

Let me know if its still confusing.

Thanks and sorry.

Your vamo reads the igo-w at 0.0 ohms without any coil in the igo-w.
So your igo-w is shorting out the vamo.

Since the igo-w is being read by your ohmmeter, it seems the interface between the vamo and the igo-w does not fit as it is supposed to , and the contact point on the igo-w is shorting out the vamo.

If you have alligator clips and wires for testing you could try to electrically connect the vamo to the igo-w without them screwing together, then the vamo should read the igo-w; if not, then you got like paranoral activity in the twilight zone........

I read a post from a vendor saying all their new IGO-W's were shorting out. It should be pretty simple, the center post is isolated from the deck with a piece of delrin/plastic. The authentic IGO-W is one of those atty's that has a really wide positive pin on the bottom, being so close to the 510 threads isn't the greatest design. If you can get the center pin out, you could sand the sides of the pin where it touches your PV's positive, getting it a little further from the outer/negative 510 threading. It's pressed in pretty tight, be careful not to mess up the post if you use a hammer, and obviously don't do this while it's on you mod.

Edit: I've tested an atty with an ohm meter and it checked out, only to fry my Vamo. I wouldn't trust an ohm meter for determining a short/continuity.

ok with nothing screwed onto it my Vamo V2 reads 9.9 ohms so that is probably normal.

Your ohm meter reads the atty so I would guess that the the atty is not making a good connection with the vamo. I would try pulling the pin down on the atty OR the pin up on the vamo.

I tried pulling the center pin on my vamo gently but then I figured if its making contact with the unitank, and the igo-W making contact with the ohmmeter, then Im not sure if it the connections on both are the factor, but will try pulling down the center pin on the igo-W

I will try this on my electrical class tomorrow, hopefully it works! Thanks!

This will be my last resort but its still an option, i just dont want to mess up something right now until ive tried a few options. Thanks!

If it's really a defect on the igo-w as what schnarph is saying, .. sounds like the outer 510 threads on the igo-w might be smaller diameter than it neets to be, and so both the outer threads and the inner pin are touching the positive centre disk of the battery;

the solution would be if you get a 510/510 adapter; the vamo and igo-w might not be able to contact directly but since they each work with other 510 devices , they might work through an adapter.

Well, good news, FT is willing to replace my charger and my igo-W and reimburse my return shipping fee.

Bad news is i gotta wait again lol.
