I thought the OP tried that already. It's worth trying again though sometimes those five clicks have to be pretty close together. Are you still getting the flashing 8 lights, and does your user manual indicate that is some type of error, and if so, which one? You might have a connection problem or a coil problem. If might be worth googling a review/demo of your device if you can find one they are sometimes more helpful than the user manual in troubleshooting issues.

Click and release the fire button five times within five seconds and the device should turn on. Repeat to turn off. Press and hold the fire button to use the device.

I tried but the led light didnt glow

Hi Nirdesh and welcome. eGo type batteries do blink (8-10 times) when you take them off the charger. Nothing to worry about yet. It's normal--it just tells you that the charging process has been interrupted. Generally speaking, the light on your battery should go from red to green for fully charged.

Evod batteries come with several protection features that will cause the battery to blink rapidly:

Low voltage (over-discharge) protection: When the battery voltage is lower than ~3.3v, the battery will shut down before causing any damage. Make sure your battery is properly charged. Use the USB cable that came with your battery and a wall adapter (5V, 1A wall wart) to charge your battery. Do not charge from your computer unless you absolutely have to, especially if your battery is acting funny. You don't want to damage your computer.

Atomizer protection: 10-second Safety Cut-Off Feature to stop the atomizer from activating for too long and overheating or shorting. In other words, if you press the power button for longer than 10 sec, the battery will shut off.

Short circuit protection: When a short is detected, the battery will shut down until the short is removed. In other words, if your coil is damaged in any way (very low resistance or broken), your battery will not work. With the old eGos, a short would have killed your battery in an instant (don't ask me how I know). I hope this is not the case with the Evods.

So, if you're sure that your battery is charged properly and is turned on (5 rapid clicks on and off), you should examine your atomizer. Take it off your battery, remove the coil and install a fresh coil. Do you have an ohms meter, by any chance? Or a different battery you can test your coil on? That would be helpful. If not, just try a new coil--do not over tighten your coil and your atomizer--just screw everything in place until it fits snugly, but not to tight. If you over tighten your atomizer, you'll depress the center pin on your Evod and you won't be able to achieve a proper electrical connection.

If your center pin is already depressed, you may try to raise very gently (use a paperclip or tweezers) to its original position. Very gently!!!!

Or get a couple of those--this little gizmo will fix all your connectivity problems on any mod/atomizer.

Circuit Board Spacer - Madvapes

Once you have your new coil installed and your tank filled with eliquid (off the battery!), turn your battery off and on again to "reboot it," unplug and plug in your charger, put the battery on a charger again to make sure it is charged, take it off the charger, attach atomizer with new coil and see if that helps.

Good luck--and keep us posted.

just tell the place you got it from that it's not working straight out of the box and you need to switch it for a new one if the above post doesn't help.

I agree. Egos are pretty basic, but they tend to be temperamental. ;) If rebooting and checking atomizer coils for proper electrical connection (or shorts) doesn't help, they are toast.

They have. Evod batteries didn't even exist in 2010. ;)

Evod is Kanger's new and improved version of the old Janty eGo that we know and love. :D

Hard for me to remember problems with my setups from 2012, but I'm thinking, just maybe, there is a small piece of scrap metal that's causing it to short.
Blow in the end, Tap while its facing down. Do this a few times to see if some microscopic piece of metal is causing a short.
Get the magnifying glass and look into the eGO/510 threaded end.
As Katya shows in the picture, the pin should show some type of boot around it.
And as he said, try to pull/wiggle the pin.
Exactly what online store did you purchase this from?
Is this what you have>>>> $2.26 EVOD E-Cigarette 650mAh Rechargeable Battery - stainless steel + aluminum + chromed brass / silver at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

Could contact:
local B&M Vape Shop (Visit) -----Might be simple.
Vendor who sold it ---see if they will repair or replace or advise (any authorized distributor).
Manufacturer contact ---see if they will repair or replace or advise.

I think that OP has one of the Evod starter kits (with atomizer included):

$16.29 Authentic KangerTech EVOD Mega 1900mAh Rechargeable Starter Kit - 2.5ml / 1.5ohm at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

As Katya shows in the picture, the pin should show some type of boot around it.
And as she said, try to pull/wiggle the pin.

Fixed that for you. :D

Are you getting anything at all out of it? When you press the button to draw, does it light up? When you are trying to draw on it, you need to hold the button down for a few seconds to heat up the coil. Five quick clicks to turn it on or off, hold the button down to draw. The light will flash several times when you put it on the charger, or take it off, or when the battery is low. That is normal for Evods.

I think we are all assuming that you bought a starter kit (with battery, tank, a couple of coils, and charger) brand new. If you bought a used setup, you might want to try cleaning the contacts on the charger and the battery. Dip one end of a qtip into some rubbing alcohol. "Wring" as much alcohol as you can from the qtip - you want it damp, not saturated. Wipe down the contact point on the battery and charger, and the bottom of the tank, with the qtip. Use the dry end of the qtip to make sure you get all excess moisture from everything.

Everything should be finger tight. Overtightening the tank onto the battery will depress the center pin, which can easily be fixed as described above. Best not to overtighten in the first place.

If you have a vape shop nearby, I would try going there to see if they can help you troubleshoot, even if you did not buy your unit from them. My daughter and her boyfriend have gone into a couple of local shops with issues, even though most of our hardware was purchased online, and the staff did their level best to help out. One shop no longer carried Evod coils when my daughter needed one while she was at work, they tore the shop apart looking for one. They wound up giving her a clearomizer that would work until she could get home and restock her work bag.

Evods are workhorses. Once you get your issues straightened out, your Evod should provide a pleasurable mouth to lung vape for a while. If you only have one tank and one battery, I would recommend getting a second tank and battery so you can vape when you want, without having to wait for your battery to charge.

Good luck.
