I having so many problems with trying to use a tank and Boge Carto's.. they keep flooding on me after 2-3 days.. I have no idea why! Why would they be fine for a day or two then all of a sudden start flooding? Could it be the tank it self causing this? I just can't seem to get this right. IF my holes were too big, wouldn't they just flood from day one? I would try a new tank, but hate spending the money if i am going to have the same issue.

Any help appreciated.

The size of your holes is one variable that can affect carto life in tanks, as is the condition of the filler (if you disturb it too much while punching it, etc). Juice consistency can be another. I've had cartos that only lasted a few tank-fulls, and others that I can fill up several times, there is quite a bit of variance. Given the cost of cartos, I consider it good enough if I can get just a few tank fills out of one (for example, 3 fills on a 3ml tank is roughly equivalent to completely filling that carto by itself about 9-10 times)

After a while you get a feel for when the carto is nearing that point and you'll be able to plan effectively regarding whether to refill again or just swap it out before it floods ;-)

so the carto will flood when the atty in it stops working???

I havn't expierenced this yet. Mine just stop producing vapor like they did when they were fresh, and I swap them.

Am I changing cartos out just in the nick of time? If I kept vaping on a dieing carto, would it eventually "pop", and flood???

Also, am I correct that boge cartos are supposed to have two holes? This is what I've heard, but haven't tried any boges yet. I just got them in, but havent punched them yet. So I'm very curious about this.

No, it won't flood because the coil fails. They flood because other parts fail. I've never actually been able to use any carto until the coil pops, myself, maybe I'm just rough on them in my use and the juices I choose ;-) Usually when I get flooding it's because the filler's wicking characteristics change (from burning, juice gunk, etc, but most often because I've burned holes in the center tube where the coil is)

If you're not having any flooding issues then you're definitely doing it right :)

As for Boges, yes I find that two holes works best for me. I did three once just for the heck of it and didn't really notice any significant difference. YMMV, of course

Killjoy, thanks for the reply to my original post! I think you are right about the filler characteristics changing, because the filler is all of a sudden becoming over-saturated. I blow it out and down through the bottom and within a few minutes it is saturated again... then i am sucking juice. Not sure why it "all of a sudden" happens... wouldnt be bad if there was a way to block the holes in the carto when this starts happening as the carto still will vape fine if i blow some juice out.

btw...can't take my eyes off those dice... trying to figure out if they are laying down or standing up...lol.

lol, I just picked something at random for an avatar when I first signed up, didn't have many images handy that were within the size limits, and haven't gotten around to changing it. It's kind of grown on me over that time ;-)

Yeah, I can't always explain the "all of a sudden" change, either. I can theorize all I want, but sometimes it's just  Case in point: I've been using the Boge XL cartos recently and they behave differently than the standard ones, I really have no clue why.
With the standard ones it is like you describe and it eventually just starts to over-saturate, but with the XLs I'm noticing that instead of flooding they simply stop wicking and run dry, even with a full tank. Kinda makes me wonder (since they're a relatively new product) if there has been a change in the filler material.

I've got one that's just starting to do this today, just refilled the tank a little while ago. I may have to perform exploratory surgery on it once it's empty again and compare the filler to a new one and a standard just to satisfy my curiosity :p
