So Ive been dabbling into DIY for a month now and Im having problems getting REAL strong flavors from my juices. The strongest 2 flavors I have made are PA-Caramel (mapley) and PA - tobacco Absolute. I have a bunch of Loranns but none of them produce flavor like I have seen with some of Mrs T's and Tasty Vapor.

I use 50MG VG and cut it with straight VG or PG, doesnt seem to make much difference except for thickness and I get slightly more vapor with ALL VG. I cut each with DW and/or PGA. ( I dont use much ) I can add like 30 drops of loranns to a 3 ml bottle of juice but STILL cannot get much FLAVOR.

I mean I can tell its there but not nearly strong enough.

I need help.

Any ideas on how to get some REAL FLAVOR to come through?

Most of the Lorann flavorings are so strong I have to be careful with them.

One thing I have noticed is that as I increase the amount of VG, I have to increase the amount of flavoring.

Example: I use to mix 20/80 VG/PG and flavor at 10% or less. Now I mix 30/70 VG/PG and had to increase the flavor to 20%.

Could this be the issue?

I'm looking into this to.. I never seem to get enough favoring except for Janty (RY-4) and Royal Smokers (Virginia).. For some reason I can't get Loanns favors to be strong enough for me and there's got to be something for those of us that need the better hit

I dont think so because I even tried straight - no nic - PG and mixed it with some loranns and it didnt make much of a difference. Ive used up almost and entire 5dram bottle of Loranns Keoke Coffee and havent made one mix that give me much flavor.

Vendors are able to do it so there has to be something Im doing wrong or I just dont know where to get the GOOD flavorings.

oh by the way I am cutting the 50mg half with straight vg or pg so I try to get 25mg.

Welcome to the club.
I posted about this same thing a while back and still can not seem to get the flavor to come through.
One thing Hoosier told me though was that flavor can actually start DECREASING if you have too much of it.
With my next batch I am going to start with a known good recipe from the recipe section and try mixing my flavor at only about 3%, then start moving up by 1% every day until I get to a good strong flavor.
Maybe this is where I have been going wrong. I always add more flavor than the recipe calls for at the beginning because i know I want a strong flavor.

Have you tried anything like this yet?

if there is too much flavoring added it does not vape as well so produces less flavor..

also a juice that tastes week when made .. usually in 2 days the flavor comes out and tastes strong..

Absolutely.

My first every thing I mixed, I went all ninja and put way too much in. I couldn't taste it at all and then two days later it tasted like vaping off the tailpipe of a bus. Wasn't good.

Now I mix smalled batches to try out flavors ( 1ml) and I add a smaller amount of flavor, let it sit for at least 6-8 hours (waiting until the next day is much better) and then determining if I need to adjust flavors.

Of course I'll always drip a couple of drops right after I mix too. The impatient 5 year old in me is alive and well . But I won't adjust anything right then.

yeah i had my first few batches when i made them i put way to much flavor in them.. flavored them until i could taste them right after making them.. had to put in a lot of vg to produce good vapor since the flavoring was killing the vapor.. the next day.. they where so strong tasting that i had to cut them a lot. made 30ml out of the 10 i started with..

Ding Ding! Great answer.

I usually start at 5% for really strong smelling flavors and 10% for weaker smelling flavors. Really light smelling I could start at 20%. I cook and mix by smell...

I then let it sit. A few tastes let's me know which way I need to go. If I'm really wanting a flavor to work, I will mix small batches at 5, 10, 15, 20 & 25. And in a few days start tasting with a clean atty from the lowest to highest. Somewhere below the drop that gave me the "Ah Ha!" flavor is where it is at.

I can then use some of those small mixes to create a smaller range and play that way. Many Loranns I have to take up to 30, but TPA's redhots loses flavor to me when it goes above 18% and tastes good at 15%.

Experiment small and when you find the range mix it up in a larger amount, go a bit below of what you had pegged in the small batch. Then work it back up slowly in the large batch. Underline the hit percentage in your notebook.

Then I am bored and moving on to something else...
