Ok, so if you have been reading my post from awhile ago, you would know that...
1) My name is Brian
2) I live in so cal
3) I am Asian
4) I'm a e-cig noob
5) I am having trouble deciding between the 510 from cignot.com and the kr8 from vapor4life.
6) I have been researching for um 2 weeks and my brain is going to explode because everytime I thought I was close to finally making a decision, something or someone could convince me otherwise.
So with that said, I am still in pain searching for right starter for me since I'm a perfectionist. Anyways, here are my opinions regarding the 510 and kr8.
510: Cheap than the kr8 with extra batt and atty plus free shipping.
kr8: more expensive but comes with pcc and better selection of carts with kit.
510: Almost everyone started with it, and loved it
kr8: love it, hate it, depends
510: apparently dripping is hard and atty breaks often
kr8: option of cartomizer, and doesn't drip like the 510
so regarding all that, i really don't have much to deal with except the last one, which I want more honest opinion about. Regarding refilling juices, performance and restocking accessory. Will be waiting and thanks in advance!

Hi brian..
I have a 510, an KR8 and an eGo (510 on steroids)...lets start with what you're main priorities and needs are..I mean is flavor most important, or visible vapor, or throat hit..

As for the juices there's tons of places to order juice from, both cartomizers and carts can be refilled..performance well that depends on how you rate performance..as for restocking..we're just coming out of chinese new year so peoples stocks are a little low right now I'm guessing

Same dilemma I had...Got the KR808 from V4L -

I don't think you can go wrong either way.

Here's what I decided to do... I realized that like many... I'd probably end up owning my second one fairly soon - This will become a hobby. It will replace analogues.

I got the KR808 and I have tentative plans to get the ego/tornado very soon. I understand they are very very much like the 510... just with better batt life.
I couldn't see a clear advantage of getting the 510 over the ego with the exception of price.

So, I decided that the KR808 was the better first e-cig for me... ease of use... less fuss... closer size and feel to a real cig... I love it... My wife loves hers too.

I understand going cheap, but whatever way you go, make sure you buy enough to make it fun and easy... giving up cigs is worth it...

I like the KR808 better than I thought I would. I was afraid the vapor would be weaker etc... but it still knocks my socks off. I am a pack/pack and 1/2 day guy and I can't suck these carts down like analogues.

Next step will be a more powerful mod... but it's further away than I initially planned.

If you go with the KR808, I suggest the Manual Battery. I got both and I wish I had another manual.

Well price isn't the main problem with me, because I have about a hundred or more to throw out for my first one. If talking about what I'm looking for most in an ecig, it has to be flavor, ease of use, and ease of refilling. I am lazy and don't want to spend hours everyday refilling or even just so I can switch around. Also, since taste is a major for me, I was told that some gives a burnt flavor that ruins taste. So yea those are factors to consider and will be hard since I don't get to try them first hand.
Taste > How easy it is to use > How easy is it to refill/switch around

then yeah I'd say that the KR8 is a better first choice for you..
Certain flavors are better on it..it's way. way easier..expecially if you're not refilling cartos at first..and you can put off your refilling and do it all at once..and switching around..you can grab a handfull of flavors when you head out the door and switch them off and on whenever you feel like it..

EDIT: and that's not me being a KR8 enthusiast..in fact for me it's probably the least used

All of them are going to take SOME effort on your part, just like cigs did with lighter, ashtray etc. Some take more effort than others, some are worth the effort, some not.
There's not much between a 510 (I have one, love it) and a KR8 other than one is a 3 piece and one is a 2 piece. Many people like the simplicity of the KR8, others think its got less whammy than a 510. None of them are going to carry more juice - or in my case - as much juice as I'd like them to carry (large box would do it, not very practical though) - because of the size of them. They are small.
Is it more hassle of refill a cart (510) than a carto (KR8) - honestly I think its around the same.
If you're going to use juice from bottles (ie, re-fill yourself) the differences become even closer.
If you can't decide then just pick one - tehre's mods for both - and adapters for mods for both.
I got my 510 at Cignot your Midwest Electronic Cigarette store. if youre interested - and Ive been very happy with it - apart from, you know, the carts not being the size of a small van :D

Edit: forgot to add dripping is NOT hard with a 510 but the attys have a learning curve

let me clarify...vapor output and TH were my primary concerns...I got a 510..loved it...then I got a KR8 to try out..and was unimpressed..flavor was better with some juices (some it wasn't) bt it didn't have the vapor output or the TH I was after..so I still primarily used the 510 (battery life and changing batteries drove me nuts) so I got an eGo...and freaking love it..exponentially better battery life, and vapor and better flavor..

So I wouldnt really recommend a 510 when you can upgrade to an eGo..expecially when right now I'm seeing post after post about bad atties in starter kits (and unfortunately cignot is one of those that i've seened mentioned multiple times)...that and you asked about switching..well on a 510 if you wanna switch flavors yu can just switch carts but if you were vaping something with a strong taste to it it might take a while for that to leave the atty and you get into the "true" flavor of the new one...cartos it's all contained in the carto, so switch and it's switched completely at once..

From my research (dont have a 510 battery but have the 510 atty) I would say that the battery life from the 510 is substantially less than the v4l 808 kit. I have the v4l 808 kit and love the flavor from the carts, they do have decent vapor production, just not on the level as the 510 atty, but the carts dont need filling as often. The nice thing is that you could get either one and add an adaptor and use either atomizing piece, so then it is just battery choice, which seems to lead me to the 808. if you want vapor and throat hit on a serious level, I would recommend on of the mods that will provide 5 or 6 volts, as that brings you to a whole new world, and the batteries for them are readily available and cheap and also provide tons more vape from a single charge. From my experience, a mod at 6v with the 808 carts is the ultimate vape, great flavor and vapor. I get unreal vapor with the 510 atty at 6v but the taste can get a little over-cooked tasting. so I prefer the 808 cart.

Both have advantages over the other, both have cons compared to the other. Both are very good. Both will require a learning curve, and you will need to change some details in your life to accommodate them.

If you want total convenience, and not have to think about tinkering, and do not mind somewhat less vapor (in some cases), go kr808.

If you want more vapor, and do not mind fiddling a bit with the PV, and want a PV that with some fiddling can be made better than stock, get a 510. Dripping is fine with a 510, BTW. I do it often. Making DIY juices and using them is easier with a 510 too.

But all of us chose one and learned and now have this info. None of us really understood all the details before we chose our first PV. You've narrowed it down to two excellent PVs. I say flip a coin and jump in. Neither is overly expensive, and you will likely get both in the long run.

If you smoke a pack a day, every week is the equivalent of a starter kit, at least. So you would be spending the money anyway. Why not get both? :D

    Somewhere between here and there
If you don't want alot of time spent messing with the unit, then you might want to consider a big battery mod. I have tried the kr8 cartos but never on a stock battery so I cannot tell you what the battery life is on the kr8's. I can tell you that the battery life on standard 510 batteries is short. I started with a standard 510 and was constantly charging and changing batteries. I would suggest something with a long lasting battery and then just get adapter(s) to fit both. The best way to know if you like something is to try it. You said you had around a hundred or so to spend. I think that would be enough to get a mod, adapter,a 510 atty, and a pack of kr8 carts depending on who you order from.

First off, thank you all for the valuable information, they were all very helpful. Second, I guess I didn't mention that I don't smoke anymore but want to pick up the habit of smoking, not the nicotine. That's why I decided to go vaping and priortize flavor, since that's what I'm really looking forward to. So, with that said, I am sure I'll slowly mess around and buy more than one eventually. However, for now I just want one stable, easy to mess around and get a clear sense of what vaping is really about. Even though I have a hundred to spend, doesn't mean I want to spend all of it. I am still a college student who would like to save as much as possible :p
But, thanks for all the info. Since both of them are good starters, and prices are about the same on either starter pack. I think the only determining factor for me now will really be on method of shipping, since I want discrete shipping as I am going to be sending the package to either my school's mailbox or a friend's house. All in all, thanks for your help and will update once I make a decision and have a first hand at it.

Question, where would be a good place for me to find juices/liquids that are cheap, good quality and provides a wide selection (hopefully in sampler sizes or packs, just not large quantity as I want to test around and not be stuck with a giant bottle). Also, accessories for the 510 and/or KR8, again, cheap and good quality. Thanks in advance.

In your shoes, I'd go with the V4L kit. It does seem to have the better stock battery (from what I've heard, since I've used neither). They have plenty of flavors of juice in 0 nic 5ml bottles for only $3 each, which would allow you to try a good number of flavors and would save you from paying shipping charges on a "just juice" order. And if you find that the cartos just aren't doing it for you, or you just want to try a different option, you can order an adapter and 510 atty from Good Prophets for only $10 + shipping. My order from V4L (for cartos to use with my eGo, definitely pleased so far) arrived in a standard priority mail envelope with "Vapor4Life" appearing only in the return address.

do sampler packs and sample sizes and they have some great flavors.
There are MANY other places you can get sample sizes or sample packs from (have a look thru the approved supplier lists and browse the listed websites) but not ALL suppliers will do sample sizes (Tasty Vapor for example, a popular vendor, has no sample sizes).
