Go to the pharmacy. Look for a bottle that says exactly this on the label:

Glycerin, USP

-OR-

Glycerin
USP

This is what you need.

If you talk to a pharmacist, tell him you are looking for "USP grade glycerin."
(USP is pronounced Ewe Ess Pee)

There is a sticky post about PG/VG labeling and purity at the top of this board. Read it.

For clarity:

"USP" indicates a standard of purity. Use of this label is regulated by the FDA.

"Kosher" indicates conformity to consumption protocols of the Jewish religion. There are no laws governing the use of this label in the USA.

Yeah "Kosher" is about adhering to religious standards not about purity or safety.

The pharmacist will look at you like you have a bugger on your face and deny knowing what your talking about. It is usually in one of the isles near the first aid/hand lotion sections. I can't remember exactly. I know exactly where it is when I go, I just can't think of the exact isle.

Walmart pharmacist when I asked about PG looked at me like I asked for weapons grade plutonium. Then said no they don't have it. The person at the counter however recommended I check CVS pharmacy. Didn't want to run all over town so just ordered a gallon online. If I have reason to ever go to CVS I may inquire about it just to see if I can get some local.

LOL Scott EE, I asked about propylene glycol and they tried to sell me a powdered laxative! Said that when mixed with water it becomes propylene glycol. I believe it is PEG or something, not PG...let's just say I wasn't about to vape a laxative! NO WAY! I also use the Humco glycerine (hubby and I have gone through 3 bottles in the last year already, yes, I know, we vape a lot, but it has never had any ill effects for us). I know some people argue that you can buy purer, but I can buy this locally and it works! :) As other posters mentioned, you can usually find it near the icy hot, benadryl creams, mosquito bite creams, and calamine lotion in your pharmacy section of your local super centers! :) Also agreed that kosher is only saying it adheres to certain religious specifications...nothing to do with purity...just means that it was derived in humane and ethical ways (LOL, they slaughtered the glycerine quickly and painlessly! j/k j/k).

Wow can you imagine if someone wasn't paying attention and vaped laxative? I'm sure the post in Health forum would have been priceless.

From what I have seen here VG is more widely available than PG. Pharmacies, grocery stores, bakery supply, and craft stores. Just have to be mindful you are getting the USP grade stuff without any additives for other purposes.

So, where online did you find this gallon size and how much was it?

Propylene Glycol USP - Propylene Glycol - Bulk - Wholesale

$37.67 with shipping to me in VA which equals just under 1 penny per ml. They have VG and menthol crystals as well if you need those. If you can get it local a gallon will run you about $20-24 plus tax so try that first. I was too lazy to drive around looking.

p.s. it is not yellow like that horrible picture it is clear.

Do you suppose vaping laxative would loosen up the gunk in the lungs? Might be a "moving" experience! I wonder if it comes in chocolate flavor! ROFLMAO! I'm so j/k, don't ever do that anybody!

I picked up a gallon of Propylene Glycol from my local Farm & Fleet store for $20.99.
It is U.S.P. and there is nobody who thinks that's strange. They also have syringes and all that too. I bought vaccination stuff there for my dog when she was a pup and gave them to her myself. Tractor supply stores or whatever your brand of store name is works great!

I went into the local Tractor Supply looking for PG and the guy looked at me like he thought I was making .... or something. "No, we don't have that..." Even after I explained how it's used for feed. I don't think he believed me. :D I ended up buying a pint online, which is probably more than I'll use in the foreseeable future.

I don't think they have smaller sizes Stroh... I just googled my local store, and found they had it. Also, I didn't even bother asking anyone about it at the store, just went and found it in the livestock section. You know... where they have all those cool big balls with handles, for horses to play...different kinds of feed... and udder balm, etc. :D

ddavelarsen.. just for future reference
