Hi My name is David Goerlitz and I am the former Winston Man. I am the model who turned his back on RJ Reynolds and began my own prevention programs to get kids to never smoke. It worked tremendously because of who I was. Sadly, I became guilty by association with the corrupt Anti-Smoking movement which I am currently building a case against. I am appalled at the recent and alarming ban Sen. Lautenberg wishes to place on e-cigarettes. I am ready to offer myself up as a guinea pig if need be to prove how safe this product is. I know what is happening with tobacco manufacturers, the lawsuits, the misappropriation of MSA funds being paid directly to the states and the current fears surrounding legislation should the FDA begin to control tobacco. It's a mess that needs to be put in perspective. My eyes have been opened (about 6 years ago) after seeing how and what truly motivates so-called tobacco Control.

I believe that the e-cigarette is the best, fairest, logical and safest approach for anyone who uses tobacco to consider as an option if, THEY CHOOSE to cutback on traditional smoking or CHOOSE TO QUIT ALTOGETHER.

Welcome, David, and thanks for posting. Many here know the sorry road tobacco control has travelled .. and all here are guinea pigs, too. I know I believe in these products, but I also condemn the lack of testing before manufacturers began selling them. I have chosen to use them, as many others have, based on the thought that they are surely safer than inhaling the tobacco alternative. But the fact is: There are many unknowns.

I want this noble experiment to continue, with some oversight, but not a ban.
