The one I'm looking at is the tiny single cell xtar MC1. It's fixed at 500 mA charge current, but it can fit any single battery from 16340's to 18650. Actually, it's barely larger than an 18650 and comes with it's own USB cable. If you have a USB power source you can charge - and still do it right. Considering LiteCigUSA carries them and they are only 6 bucks... Like I need another charger with a working VP1 and WPII 2 - but I want it. :D
Aww Geez. Now I think I need one of those to keep in my truck aha!!!.gif

Welp since you brought it up...

Did you know your VP1 includes a 12v car cord? Never used it myself - but it is included.

General caution though: Li-On batteries and extreme temperatures are a bad combination. Keeping them in a closed up car on sunny/hot days where cabin temps can get into the 110+F degree range in a matter of minutes is a bad thing - let alone charging them under those circumstances.

That's fine - stuff 'em in a baggy to keep them from getting wet.

Hot summer closed up car temps are really bad for Li-On batteries though. Every so often we get incident reports here where someone leaves a shiny metal PV - in the sun - in a closed up car with a battery in it and when they get back the PV is so freakin' hot they can't tell if it was the sun/heat of the car, a mech that fired itself, or a battery vent that they just burned themselves on when they went to grab it. Regardless they have a very dead battery going on.

Got a little insulated lunch bag to carry my "equiptment". Good idea...I needed something instead of just stuffing my pockets. Being the curious type (....) I took a thermometer while the wife went shopping. the closed truck interior got up to 92° after about 1.5 hrs. I think having a white truck, a shade for the windshield and the windows cracked open a smidge really helps. The temp between the windshield and shade went up to 125°!

Ok...I'm a liar. Pulled the trigger and ordered the vp1 with a couple batteries.. Did'nt even look for coupon codes, What a dummy. Just gotta get to the mailbox before the wife.

If you tell her it has a two year warranty will that help? Seriously - it does. Keep track of that receipt. (The idea here though is if a company is backing their stuff with a two year warranty they don't actually expect it to fail within two years...)

I see you Liked that post in Deals & Steals about the Xtar sale. Unfortunately someone posted that info in another charger thread after you had already ordered.

No problem, used to being a day late and dollar short. Got me anyway. Wanted to get a USB tester so sprung for the Xtar MC1. Same shipping for both. Good excuse? Told the wife that I had to have all this stuff so "we" could be ready when she quits smoking and starts vapingthumbup.gif...how do they roll their eyes like that?

I ordered the XTAR MP1S(Full Kit) and received the XTAR MC2 Charger (Full Kit) as a free upgrade since the MP1 has been discontinued according to them. This is not what I wanted. I wanted a single battery charger with a car adapter. I ended up with a two battery charger without a car adapter. The MP1 is still up for sale on their website. I only went with them to get the USB tester which works pretty good.
