Here is my thread. nitecore D4 lasted 4 months. Ordered a I4 but should have spent the extra for the xtar VP4.

Look on that site for reviews of chargers. That guy is quite thorough.

I've seen similar analysis and it seems it's quite a good charger if your cells were over-discharged. Any clue on how to differentiate the old version and the new version?

No idea, sorry. I would go for a Efest LUC in order to be sure.

It usually takes people a charger or 2 or catching on fire ( nitecore ) before they by an XTAR........
