After doing a little research here, I decided to jump in whole hog and bought myself a Provari mini. Love it and I'm getting great results. Nearly a month free of cigarettes now.

My desk is a complete mess, with cartomizers everywhere and about 20 different flavors from HHV and Mom and Pop, and it's going to get worse but I'm loving every minute. Put a mini vivi nova on it and that's working pretty well.

So, with that background ... on to my question. So, I love it, but I think I better have a backup. If I drop this, lose it, break it somehow -- I need to have a backup unit. I want it to be as anywhere from nearly as nice, to better than the Provari mini. I am looking at Vamo and Lavatube for nearly as nice, but have no idea from there...

I don't mind spending bucks because this is cheap compared to cigarettes, in a lot of ways, when it comes right down to it. If money's no real object, what would guys and gals recommend?

Baditude is right and of course stick with something that will accommodate the cartomizers, attys, etc. that you already use with your Provari.
Good point, so if you are using a high resistance cartomizer (alone or in a cartotank), you'll need a backup that best uses that ohm.

I used to buy 2.0 ohm cartos for my BB and Silver Bullet and 3.0 ohm for the Provari. Got hard keeping track between the two. I finally compromized and now use 2.5 ohm for all three mods.

Nothing better than backing up a provari than...........A PROVARI!!:)
Nothing feels quite like a provari in your hand, as you already know. I think you might have a hard time finding a comparable PV.
I got the wife a provari mini and I decided on a ZMax for myself (comparable device, IMO), The Zmax does the job just fine, but it is NO provari. Over the long haul (after the Zmax sputters out and dies) I have no doubt the provari will be going STRONG!!

If it were me, I would get a mechanical PV, to back up the digital.
I really like my Silver Bullet, kicked. http://altsmoke.com/starterkit/silverbulletusa.html
A simple device, no fiddling, reliable and always hits hard. The kick turns the SB into a Variable Wattage device. I dial it to 8 watts and no matter what carto, atty or tank I put on there....it always delivers "my Vape".
Another mechanical you might want to try would be....
the Precise Plus Super T Manufacturing, Innovative manufacturer of electronic cigarette products.,
Pick the size that fits your current battery (18350 or 18500 if your running the extension cap on the mini)
Good Luck

My go to back up is the eGo Twist, reliable, easy and quickly adjustable. Delivers a great vape every time!! Highly recomended.

I'll only state from a convenience standpoint, to try to find a mod, mechanical or another vv/vw, that uses the same battery.

This is where I'm at. I have an eVic, and I love my eVic, but I'm also looking around for an APV that uses the same battery as a backup, and probably fully mechanical that I can feel secure in hauling around when I'm out and about.

Provari is great. Personally I would go to the other end of the pv world and get a cool mechanical mod. I bought a Roller by Atmizoo. They are expensive($160) and you need.to call vape revolution in California. They are the nicest people Ive ever dealt with and they only cary the best and I'm not exaderating...I couldn't decide weather to get the chi you mod, 69 mod or the roller and they answered every question I asked very nicely. The polished roller is what I went with and its basically like ordering online. You give them your info and they email you the receipt. The roller is a telescopic mod and takes everything from 16340,18350-18650. I run a kick in mine and an aga tiamat that I got from discount vapers.
