I'm looking to get my first mod. I started out with KR808 batteries and I'm now using Riva 901's.
I'd like one that is round metal, not a box. The smaller the better. I have a bunch of Bloog cartomizers that I want to keep using, so I believe I need to stay with a 3.7v mod? I need it to have 808 connection or 901 (I have a couple of 901 to 808 adapters already).
Thanks for your advice!

Thumbs up for the roughstack! I have a provari as well. Sadly it doesn't run dual coils well indeed. 4.3v is as high as I can get it. My roughstack is probably my favorite mod. It is built like a tank I don't have to worry about dropping it on the ground out of the window, while going down the road, or from a plane I'd imagine. It's not designed to look pretty and I get annoyed when I mark up an expensive "pretty" mod. Grab a maxi roughstack and you get 3.7, 5, and 6v with any battery you want. Just the best mod for a good price in my book.

I am looking at buying a Provari and had some discussions with the business. They said the unit has an amperage limit at "2.5 - 2.7ish". I think it wouldn't be a problem running dual coils on one. I have 3.7 devices that run dual coils (actually the voltage is much less after load, probably like 3.5 when fired) and they work beautifully. Note that, the Provari keeps the voltage at the set voltage, there is no drop in output under load, so you get a true voltage going to the atomizer of choice.

Have you tried the 4.8v(5v) batt w/ dual coil in RS.

Here is what Six had to say about that.

I'm really fond of the 5.0v ni-mh batts madvapes sells. I've been using 1.5 ohm dual coils, 3.0 ohm attys, and 3.0 ohm boge cartos on my maxi rough stacks with that batt. At 6.0v, my life-p04 batts (6.0v set up) produces 5.0v under load with a 1.5 ohm dual coil. That's a really nice vape but on the hot side. The ni-mh 5.0v batts produce around 4.4 or 4.5 volts under load with the 1.5 ohm dual coils and it's as close to perfect as I've gotten.

The dual coils perform pretty well at 3.7v, but they shine from 4.4 to 5.0v (load voltage). The mega-xl dual coils are actually just plain awesome at 5.0v load voltage, so if you go with the lifep04 batts and charger at madvapes, try one of the mega dual coil cartos.

Well the reality speaks louder than the numbers... My provari will not run a dual coil over 4.3ish volts. A protection error displays any higher. 4.3v on the provari gives an ok performance with a dual coil... but my roughstack at 6v is where I like duals. The provari will run a dual coil with better performance than a 3.7 imr battery in my roughstack, but I like higher voltage with them and the vari just can't do it. Also, The battery life of provari running dual coils with imr18490 1100mah is very similar to the life I get out of 500mah lifepo 123a's. So it just isn't the device I would want for dual coils. Provari works great for my ce2's and really I only use it for it's ohm meter and when I have a carto that needs a specific voltage. It is a nice device but I ended up using ego's 80% of time and roughstack for duals 15% and 5% provari
