Need some advice... perhaps help...

Hello all how goes it?

Been awhile since I posted just been lurking and had nothing that I wanted to post so anyways.... I am having a small dilemma so here is the short story of it all.

I had a very close friend of mine who was a fairly heavy smoker who I got into vaping as he wanted to try and quit smoking and noticed my success with ecigs. So I set him up with some gear of mine I was not using any more, gave him a SVD, a few ego type atomizers, a dripper (maybe 2, can't recall), a old vivi nova, and I think it was an ithaka with some wire (I told him he could buy some cotton lol). Anyhow it worked for him pretty good and things went well, however he ended up passing on just over a month ago from a brain tumour. I am also good friends with is brother, and his brother now (I think perhaps a bit due to the death of his brother, who was only 24) wants to quit smoking, so I am trying to think of what I can give him to help out since unfortunately the gear his brother had was lossed/tossed out during the cleaning out of his place.

So I have another SVD that I am trying to repair since the grommet where the 510 pin is, is kind of broken and the pin is not connecting properly, so I want to have it working 100% before I give it to him. The other option is to give him one of the two mechs I have... but I think a variable mod would work better for him, he did try and like the SVD I gave his brother, and I think he is abit new to get into mechs with having no real experience with building coils. So first off, if I cant get the SVD working properly any suggestions on what would be good to look at perhaps getting him (must be cheap lol).

Secondly outside of my kayfun and my big block the only other atomizer I have it my old terminator 2, but I don't think I want to have to get him into mixing non resistance and resistance wire builds right off the bat, So I am trying to think of what I might be able to do, of course I am thinking perhaps to buy him a kayfun knock off since they are cheap enough and I should be able to get it within a week from some place, since he is coming to visit me next weekend for 3-4 days.

So any advice would be appreciated on what direction I should take if my SVD doesn't get fixed right, and what kind of atomizer I should consider for him. I know it might seem weird but I have spent the last few years now with mechs mostly and I have not spent much time looking at the market outside of stuff like the sigelei 100 watt or ipv3 type mods which I will not be getting for him (safety wise first off, and secondly price wise). I will be looking and doing some reading to see what I can come up with, but thought perhaps some input from the vape community would be great.

What I have for him so far (that is 100% in the gift bag):
2 18650 AW batteries
2 18350 AW batteries
1 coil jig
50 foot 32 gauge kanthal
50 foot 30 gauge kanthal
10 sheets Japanese cotton
1 lotus RBA (not sure if its abit tight for a new person to start coiling on)
1 super old kanger protank (think thats it lol)
1 pack of botton coils
6 bottles different ejuice flavours/nic levels
1 ohm meter.

Sure looks like more when I wrote it down lol, anyways looking for some input of which direction I should go with the mod mostly, and perhaps a rebuildable tank and dripper. Oh yah I totally forgot about the vamo, they still make them? I would have thought they were no longer made, and the areo tank is just like the protank isnt it? I am sitting here kind of laughing in a way just due to the fact that I know so many coil builds, about so many batteries, so many mechs, so many rdas, however it seems that somewhere along the way on my vape trip I lost track of the simpler things, the things I started with once I found cigalikes just didn't cut it....

Have any of you had this same issue, in where you have moved so far down the road of vaping that the starter stuff and things outside of mechs/rda/rbas and now high watt mods has kind of left your mind, and (to me anyways) has become more or less forgotten about? I almost feel like a new vapour again having to go from site to site looking up mods and then going and hunting down reviews on them.

Oh and thanks for the input... I had honestly forgot all about the vamo

Ever think you may be going overboard?
Two ego's with mt3's and a charger would work just great .
I give away ego kits to people I have met that wish to try quiting . Out of 110 set's we have 100 new non smokers over the last 16 months .

I was thinking at first I may be going overboard, and perhaps its abit of what I like and am used to, since I was never really impressed with the ego kit when I had used it way back when, and personally, if I knew more back then I would have skipped them and went right to the SVD/Vamo route. And perhaps again its just me, but I never liked those clearomizers, but again I may be over thinking/doing it.

Since I do have a small pile of stuff I am not using, and he can use it, I think I am still better off giving him that stuff and if the SVD cant get fixed right, just getting a Vamo or something similar someplace cheap, and perhaps a kayfun clone, plus it leaves things open for him to expand more on his own to more rta and rdas without costing him much more then just the rta or rdas.
