So I just today recieved my eliquid from blue mist vaping. This is my first time vaping since I had my crappy blu. I'm using a brand new riva 510 that I bought off of liberty flights. The liquid is the 80%pg 20%vg blend and is the high nicotine level. The juice tastes great but it's making me cough a little bit and burns the back of my throat. Would this be from the high nicotine level? From the PG? What should I order next time to prevent the burning and coughing? I'll try anything! Lol. Thanks for your help in advance!

It could be several things. My first thought is the nic level. I have some that are higher than i normally vape, and that is the effect i get from it. I also use a 80/20 mix, and at 18 nic i do not get the burning. At 24 I do. It could also be the flavor.

Also, keep in mind that High for Blu is 16, and Blue Mist High is 24.

The Riva and the 510 is a much more powerful PV than your blu was, however, this is what makes it more effective. When beginning to vape, there will be times that it will make you cough. I was the same way in the beginning. In the beginning you may need to adjust your lungs to vaping by taking more shallow vapes or holding your vape in your mouth for a bit before inhaling. Some people are fine with throat hit from the very beginning of vaping. In the beginning I just loved the vapor and I didn't care about TH at all. You have a juice which is fairly high in PG which will give plenty of TH which is probably what you are feeling. It should pass, but if it doesn't, you may want to buy juice that is pure VG or has a high content of VG.

I've found that nicotine level impacts the throat hit significantly more than PG. You could try lowering the nic content or if you are still having nic cravings try lower the PG. Also, if your using cartomizers or cartridges, make sure they are not dry. If your burning filler, it will scratch your throat on the inhale.

Since it's brand new - did you blow, clean or burn off the primer fluid in the new atty? That stuff is really harsh. If you didn't, then it should b better by now but would have been super hard when you first started using the atty.

Maybe you would prefer less PG? 70/30 would be a bit smoother and make more vapor. or even get 60/40?
And different flavors have different amounts of TH, as well as even the same flavors in different brands.

I didn't clean it beforehand at all, and after vaping on and off for the past 24 hours or so the urge to cough isn't getting any better. I AM taking smaller drags, and that helps significantly. I think it's the nic level. My girlfriend smokes socially, and she took one drag off of the riva and had to sit down because she got dizzy from the nic level! Lol. I'll try ordering a lower nic level fluid and see if that helps. Thanks for the suggestions everyone.

One more question: I want really high quality liquid, is blue mist juice one of the best or is there better? Thanks again!

as far as "the best juice vendor" that is subject to opinion. I've tried about 20 and my personal favorites are:

Vaperite
FreedomSmokeUSA (they use the questionable ingredient diacetyl)

others i've tried that I like and have a good reputation are:

www.tastyvapor.com (you can get sample sizes at Handmade E-Liquid in the USA by Mister-E-Liquid.com)
VaporBomb.com
www.mstsbakery.com

I've only tried belgium waffle from blue mist and I did not like it at all but I've heard a lot of good things about them. Unfortunately that doesn't usually mean much o_O

For the juice you already have, if the flavor is strong enough you can try cutting it a little by yourself. Get a bottle of "Glycerin USP" from a local drug store -- Rite Aid, Walgreen, Walmart, CVS -- it must say "Glycerin USP" and it will likely say "Skin Protectant". The ONLY thing in the Ingredients should be glycerin 99.5% (or higher), with possibly the word "(anhydrous)". It is typically found near where they have the isopropyl alcohol, bandages area -- a clerk at the pharmacy desk should be able to find it quickly, just say you are looking for Glycerin USP. About $4.50 for a 6 ounce bottle.

Use about 2 drops of this VG with 8 drops of your existing juice in a separate, small bottle, shake it up. The result will be lower nicotine and higher VG (lower PG), though with a bit of loss of flavor. It will cut your 24 mg juice to about 19 mg, with the VG jacking up the vapor a bit.

(VG is actually much thicker than your e-liquid, so you might try first with 1 drop -- the VG drop is likely going to be much larger than a drop of your liquid.)

Otherwise you can do a similar thing with regular distilled water, from a supermarket -- $1 for a gallon, buy the stuff that says distilled on the label. Unfortunately this will thin the juice a fair amount, and won't give you the nice bump in vapor that VG does, but you will still get a decent cut in nicotine level.

I was testing my blue mist vapor today and it does have quite a bit of TH, not as much as my fav Vaporbomb juice, but quite a bit and the one I was just vaping was only 8mg so that could be giving you the problems. One thing I have noticed is that a vendors juice has characteristics that carry throughout the line. The most distinctive characteristic I have noticed from Blue Mist so far is that the flavors blend so well, you can taste all the flavors in one juice distinctly, but they taste wonderful together. The best juice is the one you find that you like the most and price doesn't necessarily represent quality. There have been juices that were a bit pricey and highly recommended that I would never order again and are just sitting unused right now and my fav supplier, Vapor Renu, is inexpensive and I love their juices.
