Ok, I'll just give a quick run-down of what set-up we have/had going. Initially we started out with 510's. Hate them. We have one Ego PT...still using the 510s as a backup when my husband is gone to work with the Ego (because he's the man). I stay at home and I have five 510 batteries. Let me tell you the misery I'm going through...I started with my first, fully-charged battery at 7 am. It is 9 am now and I'm starting on my fourth because the others are dead/charging.

Basically, I hate them...all. I loved the Ego at first. Mostly because I felt that it was a great step-up from the 510. Now I hate it almost equally. I do love the battery life of the Ego. I HATE having to drip so often. I hate getting mouthfuls of juice. New and old atomizers alike. One drop of juice or three drops of juice. Still getting mouthfuls. We've found that dripping three drops tends to work best, but we're literally dripping about every 5-10 minutes. Did I mention I hate it? Lol.

Ok, another thing I'm not enjoying is the journey to find the *right* juice for us. We don't have loads of money and I'm tired of spending $15 here and $20 there to hate the juice I get. The first juice we tried came from the company that we ordered our kits from (ZeeCigs). The juice was just ok. I'm glad it came as samples, would have regretted paying for it. The second round of juice we tried was Kick Bass. Love the quality, like the taste, really dislike how I felt NOTHING from vaping 24mg/30mg juice. So, onto trying FreedomSmoke/FSUSA. Putrid. Absolute worst thing I've ever had in my mouth in my life. My mailbox still smells of their juice after two months, literally not lying to you. It completely ruined two brand new atomizers. We've cleaned them every way we know how by doing research and they still taste and smell like the juice. That was a bad, bad experience. They do have good reviews, so maybe I just got a bad shipment or something. Then we tried DFW Vapor. Ordered the 36mg juice. SO harsh, BUT for the first time I felt satisfied and wasn't finding myself CONSTANTLY thinking about smoking. I didn't really care for the flavor, the harshness is really harsh. My husband was not a fan of the DFW Vapor because of the harshness, he refused to vape it mostly. I still don't think DFW Vapor is what I'm looking for in terms of quality and flavor. So, we decided to make another order from Kick Bass. This time we ordered 36mg (the highest they put out). Again, love the quality, like the taste, feel NOTHING from vaping it.

Today, I'm ready to just give up. Mostly I lack the funds to invest in yet another trial/error type thing. Altogether on our Ego/510 kits we spent in the range of $200. On trying juices I've probably spent another $100.

I'm sorry for such a pessimistic post. I'm having a really bad day. All I'm thinking about is SMOKING as my next 510 battery goes dead very quickly and I vape juice that does nothing for me. Maybe it would be better to just quit...completely. But that's not why we started vaping. We enjoy the act of smoking, we enjoy the effects of nicotine. We just didn't enjoy the health risks and cost of smoking.

What do you guys recommend? I'm down to this: I think I want to try cartomizers. I would possibly buy another Ego battery as that is the cheapest option and I can work with the Ego but I don't think it's what I'm looking for long-term. I am thinking of making a juice order with tastyvapor.us but not looking forward to taking the chance of spending even more money on juice that we just don't like. Would mix our own juice if we felt confident doing it.

I really just need some veteran advice. I'm off to buy a smoke.

Thanks!!

Well you could jump to a mod or buy a bigger 510 type kit like the Riva
Riva 1100mAh Kit

As far as the FSUSA thing goes I am not with you there. I have ordered from several places and I order from them 80% of the time. But.. people have different tastes. i would watch a lot of review videos like the ones from YouTube Pbusardo

Blue Mist has a deal that is (5) 10ml bottles for $20 BlueMist Vaping Supplies but without knowing what YOU like it is a tough call on what to suggest.

Sorry your having such a bad go.. Direct dripping never satisfied me either. I found Boge 2.0 cartomizers really helped me scratch that Itch.

I think what your going through is very normal and though it's frustrating it's a struggle we all face. I'm curious how long you
have been off analogues. It took about 3 months for me to taste anything worth while after I started vaping. And I still have juice I haven't touched in months. I will say I purchased AAA Magic Mask from FSUSA. I received some juice that had this funky aftertaste, I added 2 drops to 10 mls. It still smelled funky but it changed the way I perceived flavor and made it taste pretty darn good. Perhaps something like that would help you.

Hang in there, you really are doing well!

Switch from a atty/cart setup to a cartomizer. I still get a lil bit in my mouth occasionally when i overfill (my own fault), but it's nothing like what I used to get with my old 801s. They were horrible. Plus, with the ego, you can always get a tank kit (no juice in the mouth whatsoever, just expensive), clearomizers, all kinds of different things. Don't hate them because you've only tried what came in the kit. Shop around, see what works best. I prefer the boge cartos, but I know others love the tank system, others love the clearos, and even more love the ceramic cartos. You have lots of choices :) Best thing, most (aside from the tank) will even fit on your 510 batts :) :) Problem with the 510 batts, they're something like 180 mah. An ego mega is 900 mah. You can get an even bigger one that's 1100 mah. You can get a smaller on that's 650. Any of them are going to be better than the 510 if you're a constant vaporer. The 510 is for very very light smokers/vaporers just starting out.

Maybe check out NHaler • Smoking Alternatives for their 808 MF style batteries and carto. I personally like the Bloog, but they are a tad bit more expensive I think. They have some decent juice as well imo. But opinions vary so wildly on juices it's hard to make a recommendation for someone. And seeing as how I love FSUSA lol, our taste are for sure different.

You have alot going on there. If you are feeling little satisfaction vaping 24-30mg nicotine strength, then you are probably like many of us who need higher voltage devices to get good consistent (relatively speaking) throat hit. Throat hit (TH), or a better description would be the "inhaled feel" of a cigarette (analog) comes 95% from two things: higher nicotine strength and warmer vapor which is produced by 5 volt and variable volt (VV) PV's (personal vaporizers). The best, longer term solution for better TH is a 5 volt or VV PV. The other option is to try a low resistence (LR) atomizer or cartomizer. They simulate higher volt PV's but don't last that long and degrade relatively quickly. But you could use that on your eGo as a less expensive (in the short term) option to increase TH.

A very good, but inexpensive, 5 volt PV is one of Ken's 5 volt Box Mods. $37 for the box mod and about $20 for the charger and 4 batteries. Plus the batteries are not proprietary and last much, much longer than tube shaped batteries. And the batteries only cost about $3.75 each. Here is Ken's site: Box Mods . He also has a variable volt box mod but it costs a little more.

On the eliquid, that is so subjective. I think (personal opinion) that with some of the American liquids like you have tried, people either love them or hate them. You might have more success (taste wise) with the liquids from China that started all of this vaping rage. They tend to be smoother, more subtle and there is no need to "steep" them. Liberty Flights sells 5ml bottles for $2.35 and has a large selection of both PG and VG and shipping is only $3. E Liquid - E Liquid 5ML - PG - Tobaccos

Good Luck

I really don't get these types of posts. People are looking for help, and it seems everybody wants to advertise their latest and greatest mod or do advertising for their buddy's website. If you're going to try to make money off somebody who is needing help, at least talk about why you want their money and how them spending money on your product can help them. What the advantages to your mod are compared to what they have now. Otherwise, you're just spamming. *shrug*

I think what was being suggested is to move to 3.7v or 5v for a very low price. The box mod is far from the latest and greatest device. It's about the simplest and cheapest 3.7v mod available and it's been around for quite some time. Box mods were also suggested by another user up the thread and that link sells the cheapest box mods available today. You might think I'm schilling here too, but I don't know those people. In fact, I build and sell box mods myself for more money than they do.

And speaking of 3.7v, definitely go that route. Higher wattage vaping (@3.7v or higher) is much more satisfying to me than any 3.2v device I've tried. Read my blog entry on high wattage vaping to understand more about it. The batteries in a 3.7v box mod last from 6-8 hours and can be purchased for as little as $2.50 each.

Also, I found myself wondering if you and your husband are trying to find the same setup/juice. This won't work. My ex-wife and I had very different tastes when it came to hardware and juice. I like an aggressive setup with lots of throat hit. She liked a softer hit. I vape the same juice every day. She didn't like my choice and switched it up frequently with juices I couldn't stand. Find your own preferences.

Definitely follow that link to the Pay It Forward thread and get in on the action. I never would have purchased and tried what has become my daily vape if it wasn't for the PIF group.

If you're getting a "mouthful" of juice using only 1-3 drops then I'm thinking you're sucking on it too hard. I tried to get the same results as you and the only way I could do it was to "suck milkshake" without using the battery button.

Before you take a puff, hold in your battery button for a second or so. You should hear sizzling or even a little popping. Keep holding in the battery button and puff gently for 3 or 4 seconds then release the button. Continue to inhale for another second to get the last of the vapor.

Remember when we were kids and would ever so lightly blow on dandelions? Try reversing that for your inhale.

Yeah, I know FSUSA a lot of people like. I probably just got a bad batch or something. Thank you for your advice and I'll definitely check out BlueMist!!

I haven't smoked a cigarette in a few years actually. Kind of funny, kind of sad...we decided to attempt to kick cigarettes by "occasionally" smoking Swisher Sweet Strawberry Cigarillos. That became a habit to where we were spending $300-$400/month on them. They are MUCH stronger than a cigarette which I think is a lot of my problem. But those I've been off/on since we started e-cigs mostly for not being able to find satisfying juice. We sometimes go 2-3 weeks without having one.

I can taste the juices fine. Really like the taste of KBV juices but just don't get nic satisfaction. I am considering mixing our own.

Switch from a atty/cart setup to a cartomizer. I still get a lil bit in my mouth occasionally when i overfill (my own fault), but it's nothing like what I used to get with my old 801s. The 510 is for very very light smokers/vaporers just starting out.

We actually got the tank and didn't like it...it had a horrible metallic taste to it that we thought would go away with time since it was new...after about 3 weeks of vaping from it we were still getting that taste, so we switched to the 510 on the ego battery. That works well except for the juice in the mouth and leaking  so I definitely think I'm going to try the cartomizer.

The Ego battery we have now is a 650. It works fine really and when it's dead, which is semi-rare, we can run it on PT. Didn't take me long to realize the 510 is NOT for us :p

Yes go to a Carto.

Oh you could also get involved with the PIF thread and try new juice for next to FREE

Pay it forward - you must Read rules before posting here

AWESOME!!!

I will definitely check them out. You're definitely right...opinions vary on the juice. I didn't mean any offense or insult to FSUSA...I might have gotten a bad batch. I just really don't think I could try it again for the money just in case I didn't get a bad batch. Lol.

Awesome. What do you use? The box mod?

I am definitely going to check this out. I'm really interested in the box mods. I'm not sure why really...I have no idea the pros/cons. I guess they just look cool.

I was looking at Liberty Flights earlier and thought about trying out some of the cheap juice. Way back when I first started researching e-cigs, I read somewhere to NEVER buy China-made juice because the quality is horrible, blah blah. And I guess that just stuck with me. While it is subjective...I'll go with the majority vote most of the time.

Thanks!!

I would suggest an eGo passthrough, which come in either 650 or 1000mah sizes. It charges via USB and you can vape and charge simultaneously.

Yeah. We have a 650 passthrough. It's awesome. Reliability is a little off sometimes...but 99% of the time it works while on the PT.

If you're getting a "mouthful" of juice using only 1-3 drops then I'm thinking you're sucking on it too hard. I tried to get the same results as you and the only way I could do it was to "suck milkshake" without using the battery button.

LOL You're probably right. I'm probably angrily sucking like "C'mon, nicotine! I KNOW YOU'RE IN THERE!!!!"

Nah, really. I know what you're talking about. We usually will suck for a second before/after vaping. And I do the sizzle, too. I'm not saying I get mouthfuls everytime. Just sometimes.

Thank you guys for all of your swift and awesome responses!!

What flavor juice are you searching for? I looked for a basic juice that I could tolerate. I smoked menthol so I found a mint type flavor. It was tolerable so I vaped it. I grew to really like it.

Order an extra battery for your husbands ego for about $14, get some very basic juice in a higher nicotine and get a box of cartomizers.

I would have probably quit too if I dripped or used carts. I just don't like doing either one. I just don't like the messiness or hot vapor taste, but that's just me.

That's what I'd do before I spent a lot. Get a battery, cartos and a basic juice. I personally like nhalers juice. You won't do cartwheels over it but you won't throw up.

Edit: nhalers juice only goes up to 24 mg.

If you ask Vapor Bomb, they will make up to 30. I'd recommond a couple of their fruit flavors only. Only because I've never tried anything else.

I have never heard a bad thing ever about Vapor Station tobacco juices. And they do have high nicotine.

Cool! I'm definitely going to order some cartomizers. We have talked about just ordering another Ego battery also. That may be what we do for now with the fundage shortage we have going on. :p

We tend to like the fruity flavored juices. Watermelon has been our favorite to date. We also tried the Bakery flavors with Kick Bass and liked those. While I don't want to go crazy and vape bacon..or waffles..or egg salad (yeah, really saw egg salad...oh AND tuna!!)..we mutually agree we don't want any tobacco stuff. And we're not really menthol fans.

I'm gonna go check out Nhalers now, though. I'll see what flavors they have that we might be interested in!

Thanks!!

I know they're just tobacco flavored, btw...we just don't care for tobacco flavor. Haha. (smoked Strawberry Swisher Sweet Cigarillos before).

I only really vape 2 juices- nhalers newport (a sweeter mint) and Vapor Bomb peach.

I have other juices floating around that I vape from time to time, but a day doesn't go by that I don't vape the nuport or peach. And like I said, if you email Vapor Bomb and ask them, they will make juice in higher nicotine.
