Need some help deciding

I like to smoke just for the action and not necessarily the flavor, is there a way to just get the vapor without the flavors? This might sound a bit weird but im not looking for taste i just like the relaxation of smoking give. Take a 10 min break, slow controlled breaths, puff some smoke, hold it in my fingers when i think and come up with new ideas.

I wanted something i could hold with no hands sometimes but not the most important but a good amount of vapor is important to me. Id probably smoke an equivalent of a pack a week so the battery i dont think will be a problem (how often would i have to charge it on this usage?).

I was looking at the 510 because i saw a lot of people talk about it and the general good reviews, good choice? Any preferred places to buy from?

PG free liquids will probably provide you with the best vapor, but it is naturally sweet. I would recommend trying at least a simple tobacco flavor such as a 555 or a flue-cured; one I can personally recommend is WordUpECig's Marlboro Medium...it's fairly light in taste and provides great vapor, especially at 100% VG.

Since you're a light smoker, you can get a nic level of around 6mg or so...maybe even no-nic. As for your e-cig choice, I'd think a 510 auto batt would work well for you; I'd look into a Joye 510 or something similar. You can purchase one of these from many places...I'd look for the best price. If WordUp is still running their 25% Joye deal (I think this might actually be for the eGo...which is a great unit, but I don't think suited to your purposes), that could be your "one-stop shop."

Good luck with your future purchases!

I usually get about an hour of vaping on a single charge for a standard 510. They are pretty nice to start on since they are about the same size as an analog. If you only smoke a pack a week I could see you going through 2 full batteries a day. My 510s last about an hour before needing to be charged and charging them takes about an hour so you can see where battery "juggling" may become a problem with the standard 510.

The 510 was / is great but there are a lot more options now for new vapors that weren't around even a year and a half ago when I started. The eGo is a little bigger than a 510 but lasts much much longer on a single charge. V4L and maxxfusion would be a couple to check out also.

If you are looking for NO flavoring you could get some nic juice and be done with it. Here is a link to madvapes for non flavored vg-

Unflavored

There are a lot of vendors who make subtle juices for people who like mild flavors. Backwoodsbrew is known for there stellar flavor that is not over the top. BWB is probably be the place I would start if your not crazy about the idea of vaping wild flavors.

The 510 is a good starting point. You can charge two batteries and carry a spare to work. Still, that will only get you to work and through a couple of breaks and lunch. You might have to change batts before you leave work.

The Ego will give you 5-8 hours of vaping and one freshly charged batt might get you through a work day if you don't vape constantly. There are 650mah, 750mah, 900mah, and 1000mah batts for the Ego and Riva. Divide those numbers by 100 to estimate the vaping life of a battery. i.e. the 650mah will give you about 6+ hours of vaping.

There are multiple atomizers available for the Ego. You can use standard attys, mega attys in several sizes, cartomizers, and the Tank. The Ego-T Tank is the current new favorite. It holds 1.1ml of juice and will get you through most of a day at work. Fill and cap a couple of spares and a spare battery and you are good for all day.

There are also LR (low resistance) attys for the 510. These give enhanced flavor and vapor. Also, you can screw on a 306 atty in standard or LR. Some say that the 306 atty is a better tasting vape. It's also a little shorter than the 510 atty, making it more like the length of a real cig.

Hi and Welcome to ECF !
Since you smoke about a pack a week, a 510 battery just might last you a day on a charge ! (but have 2 batteries just in case 'till you find out).
Depends on how long you draw....(a heavy vaper gets about an hour)
Most every vendor listed here in the forum will sell unflavored juice at low or zero nic....You could also make your own.
A great place to get a "no box" kit is from Cignot your Midwest Electronic Cigarette store. . Always a low price. But there are also sales always going on with vendors....so math involved to get the best pricing !

Good luck to you !

The KR808D-1 has done well for me. I use it every 1/2 hour at least, for around 5 minutes, and the battery will last for about 5-6 hours. As far as your vapor, VG puts out more than PG. I bought VG, kosher, medical, food grade, from Amazon.com one pint for $8.49. I sometimes use VG and a couple drops of flavor and vape that without any nic.
Your starter kit should include at least a couple of cartos that are flavored. You can buy some blanks to use along with those.
My kit came from PrimeVapor.com, it was $49.
Accessories for the KR808D-1 are very easy to find.

Thank for all the help. Im a bit worried about the one hour charge with the 510. I though since i smoke so little it would at least last a full day. Any ideas on a step up from the 510 with a bit better battery life?

The bigger batt 510 is the eGo or Riva. Same set up and uses the same parts, just more battery life - and bigger.

I couldn't get a site to give me specs on it but one said the diameter was bigger for the battery in the ego 510. If thats true does the battery blend well into the cartridge? I dont want a cliff edge if you know what i mean.

The eGo comes with a cone that screws onto the end of it to make it taper like a cigar. The cartos will still fit.

510 - re short battery life (2-3 hours) you can instead get their mega xl batteries for 280mah or about 3-5 hours, less if vaped heavily. By default it's a 3-piece and blank cartomizers are available (and a very small selection of prefilled)

KR808D-1 - a dedicated 2 piece (battery + dispoable cartomizer and if you keep a cartomizer damp with juice you can get days out of one)

Re flavorless - yes you can buy flavorless juice with out without nicotine. There are no flavorless prefilled cartomizers - if you want a 2-piece you would have to buy blank cartomizers and prefill them yourself. Nicotine itself has a sort of nasty taste so sometimes a bit of flavor is nice, whether it's tobacco, or peach or vanilla or any flavor.

If you want to suck on en ecig constantly consider an Ego or Riva 510 with 6-8+ hour battery life.
