Need some help for start w/o any mistake

The eGo or the Kr808 are my choices, there was no joy for me with the 510.

Janty eGo has a store in the UK doesn't it...?

Yes there is.. but a bit expensive, comparably to a chinese store like HG..

Some folks feel the super-minis (m401,2,3), the ones actually the size of a cigarette, have the best tasting vape. Unfortunately they also have a very tiny cartridge and poor battery life with anything but the longest battery which also makes a very long cigarette about the length of the 120 style analog but still the diameter of a King Size or 100 analog.

The Joye 510 and DSE901 both are 3 part units just like the M401 but have longer battery life and a bigger cartridge. The 510 trades off battery life and taste for vapor and throat hit because it burns hotter. The 901 trades off vapor and throat hit for taste and battery life. Either is a good starting unit.

The KR808D-1, the cartomizer, is a very user friendly 2 piece setup. It has a design flaw which ends up burning the filler of the cartomizer. You can do a search of ECF for 'burnt cartomizer' or burning to find what I mean. Then decide if the ease is worth the trade-offs.

I really think you'd be happier with the 901 or 510 or KR808D-1 than with the M401.

Thanks about the Pros and Cons of those 3 (should i say, most used) models.

About the burnt cartos i already ready about it and the conclusion is that you can refill your cartos some times but you shouldn't let them dry too much.. if they keep wet they will not burn that easy.

Thanks again for your opinion!

the 808d-1 is good but you can always buy an evo later if you choose the 808d-1. Most people on this site have several models for the variety of tastes function etc. The evo uses liquid made by intellicig that is pg free I think. May be a reason to try one later even if you start with something else. I have 808d-1 ,dse-801, dse-901, dse 8084 ,crown7 hydro, and my wife also has a greensmoke (but she wont share it), like em all.

Yes, i know that, that will be my move probably. buy one now for some time and them buy other ones..

Thanks.

How about healthcabin.net? I'm not sure, you do or you don't want to order from a China supplier.

For comparison, in US dollars, the janty is $25, cignot $22 and healthcabin $20 for the ego. There is also the Tornado from Totally Wick, another UK store. The tornado is the ego in different skin.

I know that from china it will be much cheaper, but the problem is with the costums, they might stop the shipment and make me pay an high tax to take the box out, so i'ld prefer from within the EU because it's faster and don't stop at costums.

but thanks! ;)

I have two units: the eGo and the 401.

401: I love that I can dip but hate the battery life. It is a great little ecig.

eGo: I love the battery life but wish I could dip.

I wish that they would put my 401 atty on an eGo battery. I didn't buy the 510 because of the battery life. Anyway you won't go wrong with either unit. It having to look/feel like an analog will probably wear off on the first day. In fact, after a few days you probably won't want it to look at all like an analog.

Well, i've just decided for a KR808D-1.

I'll buy the starter kit that includes:

2 Batteries - 1 auto and 1 manual (280mah)
1 wall Charger
5 tobacco cartomizers (18mg)
1 Owners Manual

And besides that i'll buy too
1 PCC (for the KR.. could some one please tell if the DSE901 PCC works with the KR808D-1?)
15 cartomizers (prefilled, to test 3 flavours, and keep the cartos for refilling later)
1 USB Pass-through
1 or 2 bottles of eliquid.. (10ml should be enough for now to test some flavours and keep some juice for a while until next order..)

And i guess thats all..

Do I need something else?
Some suggestions?

1 PCC (for the KR.. could some one please tell if the DSE901 PCC works with the KR808D-1?)
I know of no PCC specifically for the DSE901. I can tell you that the threads on the DSE901 and KR808D-1 are the same so you can use an 808 battery on a 901 atomizer. You can connect an 808 cartomizer to a 901 battery but there are no holes at the threads of the battery like a 808 battery has. Means you can't draw air through the cartomizer. The do make adapters to add air holes for draw to allow the use of 808 cartomizers on 901 batteries.

The 280mah standard 808 battery is a bit longer than a 901 battery. All this adds up to being able to use a 808 PCC with a 901 battery. But the space made to hold 2 cartomizers isn't that useful of a space for the 901. Its to short to hold a 901 atomizer with the cartridge attached. So when using the 808 PCC with a 901 it will hold 1 battery, 1 atomizer and 1 cartridge. Not very good use of space or a good collection of spare bits.

This is a universal PCC and when set up for the 901 it will hold a battery, atomizer and 5 cartridges. Or 2 batteries and atomizer and 4 cartridges. Much better. I don't know anyone selling this except for the company in China. I do own 2 and love them:
PCC E-Cigarette C Serials [PCC-C] - $29.61 : DSE Electronic Cigarette, The biggest manufacturing-based online store for electronic cigarette

bsoplinger, thanks a lot for your answer, but i'm asking the other way round..

having a 901 pcc and holding there a KR808D-1... but i understand with your words that probably the case will not close properly.. right?

I'll just buy the 808 PCC.. (just ask because the 901 pcc looks more like a analogues pack, that i'm used too have in my pocket.. but i can handle the KR pcc right too, not a problem..

Thanks again..

Shall i buy something else for the starting?

Oh oops, yes I did it the other way around from what you wanted. Since the normal KR808D battery is longer I'd guess it'd stick out of a 901 PCC but it should charge it OK unless its like the Joye 510 PCC where there aren't threads but its the pressure of the lid that holds the battery in place.

And now,

1x KR808D-1 PCC
1x KR808D-1 USB Passthrough
1x 5pack Cappucino Cartomizers
1x 5pack empty cartomizers

for a total of 48,86£ with international signed shippment from iVapour-elixir.

So the total was 86,23£ (arround 100€!)

And i hope it will be all here arround friday..

I guess it was a good deal, no?

(ok, i'm a bit excited about this.. you know that feeling, waiting for the first PV!)

Portguy, thanks for your words, i've just sent you a PM minutes ago.
I'm living in Sintra and working in Mafra.. are you around?

That's nice to have someone close to share some juices.. i've bought 4 juices so far.. Cappucino from ivapour, i saw very goods reviews and everybody seems to like that, and i'm a big fan of coffee and derivates, so i'll like too i guess.
10ml bottle of Coffee juice, Mbro/USA Mix and Menthol.. not risking to much now, those are flavours that i've some confidence that i'll like.

Thanks again for you words, 'Obrigado'!

keep in touch!

Im in Porto, but that will not be an issue. Wow..just like me you are into coffee juices. Ivapour capuccino is good. Some Dekang capuccino is also GREAT (from liberty-flights for instance).

As your kit arrives i'll send you samples of what i have.

MSD added.

Well, i'm getting much more interested now in on KR or a 510.. :2cool:

Boyd, thanks a lot for everything, your words make me want a KR right now!
Just tell me something, like in a month how much do you spend in maintenance? i know that the in m401 and 510 you might need to always carrying a extra atomizer because they stop working a lot, and read somewhere too that the batteries might get some problems too. and with the KR808D-1? With the starter kit and the PCC it maybe last longer right? as the atomizer is in the carto, the don't break so often because you change it more often, am i thinking right? it will be more cheaper to maintance than an m401 or a 510 right?
And is it really easy to refill the carto as in a mini? i read that it might be a bit hard to refill, but i saw a tutorial movie where the guy just take of the top rubber, the inner rubber, refill and close it all again. is that it? and after the refill you must let it dry for about 20min with the atomizer side up, right?
I've very interested in that KR model.. just tell me where i can read something more about it, and if you know some good places to buy one that ships to Europe (hopefully a uk store)

Thanks again for everything Boyd! Cheers!

Thanks about that 'out of the box' thinking!
Yeah now i'm thinking about a KR808D-1, that uses cartomizers! :)

I spend about $50-$75 a month buying juice and cartos.
I use to spend $250 a month minimum on analogs. Out of the many, many Pre-filled Cartos I have bought, I have only had 3 that seemed like they just were not filled enough. The vendor replaced them free. I had one other carto that just didn't work. I have never had a KR battery go bad. I still have the auomatic battery I started with.

I order e-juice and some pre-filled and blank cartos It is very easy to load or re-fill a carto. I "load" about 3 a night (for variety) charge a couple of bateries and I am set for at least 24 hours. I like the extra long MANUAL batteries. You can get them with higher mah and you can also get them with 4, 8 or 13 second cutoff. I get as much vapor out of the 8 second battery as I do my Silver Bullet and with my passthrough if I 'double clutch it". I use KR cartos with both the passthrough and the Silver Bullet.

I know the 401s and the 510s are very popular, but from what I have heard, most folks who love the 510 direct drip or use a drip tip that you can pour the juice right through the mouthpiece. One supplier told me that they don't even sell the cartridges for the 510, because they recommend "direct dripping".

Now imagine: the cartomizers for the KR hold from 15-25 drops of juice, depending on whether it is new or being re-filled. The 510s can take up to about 6 drops. That's about 6-10 puffs max. (most of mine started off OK, but by the 4th puff, it tasted burnt. The KR is equal to about a pack of analogs.

I have a 510 in the cabinet and frankly would sell it cheap or might even give it away I hate it so much.

For vapor production, flavor, ease of use and long life between having to load up again, imo, you just cannot beat the KR808D-1.

I like buying my juice from MyFreedomSmokes. Vapor4Life and Nhaler. MyFreedomSmokes has a great variety, some with VG and you can buy in fairly large quantities. You need to search the Internet or forums for "Discount Coupon Codes" for whoever you buy from, because 99% of the vendors offer them. That will also save you some money. I buy accessories like blank cartos from all these guys and Altsmoke. which is where I bought my Silver Bullet with a KR adapter and my passthrough.

When I go out I grab a battery and a couple cartos and I am good to go. I had to go to the Emergency Room not long ago. I had one battery, (an Extra Long with an 8 second cutoff I bought from Vapor4Life) and one carto attached. I had already been using this all day long. The hospital decided to keep me overnight. I vaped late into the night. No one gave me any problems. I just explained what it was when they offered me a patch and the general response was "Oh, OK, I have heard of those! Good for you quitting cigarettes". When I got home the next evening at around 6pm, I was still vaping strong on that one battery and carto. Now that is "Ease of Use"

If I can help further let me know. I was a noob once and it is very confusing out there. Just don't fall for ANY of the "Free Trial" Scams.

Congratulations Hige!!

If you have any questions just write me. Also, check out this new site I found. GourmetVapors.com. You can make your e-juice. I placed an order last Friday and received word that it shipped. I will update you on the results as soon as I receive it.

Boyd:vapor:

Boyd,

Check your 510. A 510 cart will hold at least the double of what you said. Also the 510 is really a badass PV. Two properly filled 510 carts last the regular ex-smoker a day.

Get your 510 and try the link on my signature, you might reconsider not using your 510.

For technical reasons i choose not to use the KR.
