My last Riva died about a week ago and I was in no financial shape to replace it. Thankfully the wonderful PIF group helped me out. Today in the mail was a 3.7 box mod and some cartos, thank you lox. I'm having a problem with it though and I'm hoping someone here can help. When i try and vape there is zero airflow. Feels like trying to suck solid ice cream through a straw. I've tried loosening it and that didn't work. The only way to get air flow is to just sit the carto on the connection. Once you turn it even once it gets no airflow. I've also tried raising the center post on the carto and on the mod but it didn't help either. The last thing I tried was filing the little notches on the side of the carto with a nail file. That didn't work either. This is a 901 connection and I've tried 3 different cartos. The cartos I tried were all the same kind. I don't have anything different to try with it. If anyone has any suggestion that might work I'd really appreciate hearing it. I'd like a solution that is free since I'm broke. I can post some pics if that will help. Just let me know. Thanks!

If you look at the connection pin of your carto. There is a slot there that is perfect for a small flat head screwdriver. You can screw it counter clockwise then that will loosen the draw. Be careful not to overdo it. Since you can cause the center post to poke out to far. Which can lead to a short. Just do it one twist at a time until you notice a difference in air flow.

I appreciate the tips, thank you. I got it back out to try the screw tip but discovered the battery part isn't working now. I tried 2 different batts so I don't think it's that. Maybe the switch I guess. Maybe when I was trying to fix it earlier I caused a short or something. I feel awful. Probably the worst vaping day I've ever had. Someone is nice enough to help me out during a hard time and I break it on the first day. If anyone knows of anything I can do to possibly fix this that would be awesome. I really need this box mod to work or I'm going to be stuck without a pv.

If you were turning the center part of either the battery connector or the atomizer connector you probably broke the wire off that's attached to it. It's usually the plus [+] lead on the center post and the minus [-] lead on the threads on the battery side. (It doesn't make any difference on the atomizer end.)

If you have a volt meter (DMM) set it to VOLTS and put the minus lead (black) on the threads and the plus lead (red) on the center pin and push the button to turn it on and if it's working you should get a voltage reading. MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT SHORT THE CENTER PIN TO THE THREADS DURING THIS TEST.

On the atomizer you'll need to test for continuity. Using the DMM, set it to OHMS and put one lead on the threads and the other on the center pin (doesn't make any difference which color goes where). If the meter reads 0000-0005 then the atomizer is good, if there is no reading, or just a one (1) then it probably has a broken wire and is bad.

Let us know what you find.

Thanks for the advice. I don't have a volt meter so I have no way of testing it. I'm sending the mod back to be fixed. I hope I didn't ruin it somehow. @myxomatosis thanks for the offer I appreciate it. I bought a little pv at Walmart which will hold me over. The battery only lasts me like 2 hours which has been a pain. I'm use to chain vaping and now every 2 hours I have to stop and let it charge. When I'm home it's not too bad but if I'm anywhere were I can't charge it it's very inconvenient. Yesterday was the worst. I went 5 hours without being able to vape. I'm happy the cravings are no where near as strong as the cravings I use to have for cigarettes. My taxes will be here in a week so I don't have long till I can get a new pv. I'm looking around now so I can place a order as soon as the money is deposited. Thinking about a mod but not sure which one. If anyone has suggestions on one that is built well and will last I'd love to hear them. My budget is about 150. I want 5 volts or VV. I've only looked at a few but so far I like the Indulgence and the Reo. Thanks again!
