I should think that the control valves would help quite a bit. Protanks V1 were too airy, the V2 seems OK airflow wise, and I've found the perfect way to have coils that work - I rewick and recoil them myself. It takes 5 minutes, and saves around 1.5€. And you know if it's well made ... or not ;)
Take a tour on Youtube, as there must be HUNDREDS of videos on wick and coil making in many languages.
Once you get the hang of it, it's not hard, just a bit fiddly. But worth it, IMHO :D

As for half empty gurgling, or other problems, I've found nearly all the bottom coil devices have this hassle for some reason, so I fill them when they get to the gurgle mark.
But why did this never happen when they brought out the cartos with a bottom coil ? Maybe it is the larger diameter of PT's etc, just up to the 6ml Hypertanks. I have found that Aro 3.5ml Glassomizers don't have this problem so often as Protanks but I don't know why.
There again, life would be very boring without mysteries in it, so I guess I can live with PT's that gurgle :D

I use to have this problem and found that the replacement coils were defective. Some did not even have the wick. I have since changed vendors and I now vape mainly vg and I find the thicker liquid does not tend to flood my tank. I did hate this tank to begin with but now it is my fav. Keep working with it and check your coils. Maybe take a coil out if the minni's and put in the v2 to see if this works. Also make sure to clean with alcohol ( I use vodka) and this helps a lot to. I clean mine every night by soaking for a few minutes then dry and let air dry for a few. Works great!

Were the replacement coils authentic?

slow and longer drag.
always screw the tank to the battery upside down.
when it started to flood, try holding your PV upside down and burn until you hear popping noise.

That is one sure way to deal with tanks, I know that advice sounds stupid but the tank(s) do builds up positive pressure .
Try instantly when flooding starts to take TOO HARD inhale, I mean very hard( firing-button down). It WILL spit and choke and etc.
Then vape normally .
This seem to happen with bigger tanks, as they build up more pressure

The easy way to fix the gurgling is to get the excess juice and moisture out of the coil and air tube. About once every day or two I roll up a corner of a paper towel into the smallest diameter I can and insert it into the drip tip all the way down to the coil. Twist a couple of times and it will come out with a wet spot on the end. Most of that is condensation that's produced when hot vapor condenses on the stainless steel air tube. It drips back down into the coil and eventually floods it. Once you insert and remove, the flooding is gone.

I agree with adjustable air flow. Restricted air flow creates excessive vacuum as you vape and more juice is sucked into the coil area. That's why long slow pulls are better than hard pulls when you vape. With high PG juice, I keep the air flow setting on my Aspire Nautilus on the largest hole. The air flow bottom cap for the Protank sounds like a good investment.

I...i just don't get the PT(2) hype. It was my first clearo after a CE4, was loving the design, the quality build etc. but the flavor and smoke production...in my experience it is NOT up to what other people have been saying. I REALLY was trying to love it, to cherish it, been making my own coils too. But it has a 'PT' flavor on it, hard to describe. I have tried other clearomizers and ended up with the Justfog Maxi. The justfog maxi just has better TH, better Flavor AND better smoke production. Now with the KF and smok tech DC cartomizers, i havent touched the PT anymore.

Another issue i had ALOT was gurgling and juice leaking, both through the driptip AND from the 510 thread. Can someone explain what the hell is going wrong? I've bought dozens of coils and rewicked dozens more, now i'm just tired off it. But then i read people prefering the PT above the KF and even smok tek cartomizers...

Should i go for Sub ohm? Make a diamond coil? When i use the base of the PT as an dripper, the taste is AWESOME. When i use the whole tank, i dunno. It isn't up to the KF in taste thats for sure. I really want to have some advice here, since the PT build quality is damn nice and i really want to love it. It just doesn't love me back :(
