Need to consider the rebuildable option. Need a little help.

Yeah, it comes with wire and cotton, however I never use cotton that comes with tanks as it's always crushed and no longer fluffy. I also never use the wire that comes with an rta because I have my own that are made of known materials and in the gauges I prefer.

Included wire and cotton aren't anything you should be concerned with when deciding on your RTA because those things can be bought from non-vape retailers. The FDA or the government aren't going to ban or restrict the shipping of wire and cotton. They can only do that to wire and cotton that is labeled and marketed for vaping (like Cotton Bacon and such). You can find Ko Gen Do, Muji and Puff brands of Japanese Organic Cotton on Amazon and Ebay as well as many other sites and wire can be bought by Temco Industrial.

Question about that Brunhilde RTA: Is it easy to find those braided steel cables from non-vape suppliers (like buying resistance wire), or do you pretty much have to buy them from vape suppliers?

I've only ever seen them available at vape stores, they're made especially for the Brunhilde RTA

I would suggest the Precisio, mainly for the foolproof wicking.

There are so many choices (if you can find them) but I will say the Precisio was one that I was very interested in. Other people (recently) have asked the same question but I searched and several RTAs I wanted to recommend are not available anymore. You might also consider a small single coil RDA or even something like the Vapefly Galaxies RDTA (the one with the tank below the deck)

Forgot to mention... there are a few tanks (that use drop-in coils) that also have the option of a RBA.

It's unlikely there is any part from the Zenith that can be used on the Ares 2 with the exception of maybe the drip tip (aka mouthpiece), if that's what your asking.

The Ares 2 is strictly a rebuildable tank and cannot take any factory coil heads in any way, shape or form. It has nothing to do with the Zenith, AngeNZ merely mentioned them in the same post because she thinks it's a good fit for someone who likes the Zenith but wants to invest in a rebuildable. Which is incidentally why I recommended it as well.

my best bet for you would be the expromizer v4 or v5. (i dont have the v5 but looks be similar to previous version). v4 is easy to build on, easy to use. i just pop in a 2.5mm id coil, push the wicks in the ports (make sure the wicks dont stick out of the juice holes so it will turn freely). no leaking due to top airflow, enough cotton ensures no gurgling and dry hits.

I'm a keep it simple and easy type of guy here's my tool kit.
Coilmaster
2x28ga SS Clapton wire
a jewelers set of screwdrivers or what ever fits your atty
small wire cutter, could be nail clips on the cheap
Something to check ohms, could be an regulated device or an ohm meter

Same with DIY mixing I keep it simple. I do use a scale (make sure it 0.01 increments measuring) but I did it a long time with just the scale on the syringe and lines on a beaker. Never was a fan of the drip method of mixing, so a few 3ml syringes and 18ga blunt ends added to your list. If you take some clear nail polish and paint the scale they will last a long time, also a 100ml beaker unless you use a weight scale. You'll need a few Boston bottles 50 to 200ml depending on how much you plan to mix at a time, or recycle you glass eliquid bottles is which is what I do. A eliquid calculator, I use, DIY E-liquid | Steam Engine | free vaping calculators there is also a tab for coil wrapping you could find helpful. You will need VG and PG, and what ever flavors you want. Here is where I blew my keep it simple theory with over 150 flavors but really you could survive with 5 or less.

This list is what you need it's your responsibility to do your research on how to be safe.

Oh I forgot the nicotine, lol. I use an very clean tasting organic produced fairly close to me. I don't know what is available to you. Find something that has no flavor you have to cover up with a large percent of flavoring since you will discover that flavoring is the most expensive item in DIY. For me a great mix has less than 10% total flavoring, I steer away or reduce flavor of anything any recipe that is much over 10%.
