If by 501 you mean a branded Joye 510 that's a big part of your problem. These are for those who want a heavy throat hit.

I'm confused as to why it has to look like an analog "so we don't get pulled over while driving"????

Probably so it doesn't look like a pot pipe or something illegal. You can get white 510 batts, attys and carts. The light on the end might be an issue...hate that thing, but it does tell you when it is working properly, or out and needs a charge. And many cops are actually using PVs so the light might be a good thing if they see it.

PG was definitely too harsh for me. I make my own VG juices entirely now, I don't buy flavored juices. I get high-nic VG juice, flavors, VG and thin the juice with about 20% distilled water. TH is dependent on nic content with this juice, so low nic has almost none, high nic is WOW!!

Kurt is dead on. I don't want to draw any attention at all for a variety of reasons. The PV that I use branded as Firelight has the light at the end which is quite useful, its not blue as other models are. Its color is exactly like the burning cherry of an analog but a little brighter. It also has a fade in / fade out that looks like the draw of an analog.

In my area the cops are out in droves looking for anything. I see a speed trap daily during my commute to work. They are also very "pro-active" trying to make up lost revenue for the city due to all of the foreclosures in my town. I don't want to give them any reason to write me a ticket.

I've also noticed what I would call a stigma against PV's. I'm not sure if anyone else is having this problem. I don't think they are socially acceptable yet and I don't want to hurt the cause with a PV that does not look like an analog until their use is more widespread.

Lastly I use one of these at work and an analog looking PV next to a bottle of nic juice that is clearly labeled is probably a good thing for job security ;-) A pot pipe looking PV... not so good.

Aside from diluting high nic content juices (PV based) to reproduce a light analog we discovered that VG may be the solution.

My wife can handle the higher nic content (of 19 mg) if its a VG based solution. This is good as I hope it will help her kick the expensive analogs. So far so good but we'll see. My experience has been that there are initial strange cravings for the other additives and the carbon monoxide kick that you miss when using a PV. She is definitely having issues but is trying to hold out until they subside. It took about 3 weeks for me to get over them. I think that the extra 19 mg nic kick is helping. Also a nice PV that is easy to use is key (we are enjoying the joye 510 with the blue foam mod).

I want to say JC has redeemed themselves to me with their new line of VG liquids (Red Oak Smoke Juice). They are superb; my wife likes the brand called "Island" which to me tastes like Malibu rum minus the rum. I'm enjoying the "Valencia" which has a subtle taste of orange tic-tac's. I wish they had a content higher than 19 mg but oh well.. more vaping ;-)

I wouldn't worry about the LEO thinking youre doing something illegal - just carry your PV instruction manual in the car and the business cards of the juice suppliers. You are NOT doing anything illegal and there are some police who are quite educated about these things.
If they decide to err on the side of caution and test your juice, what's the issue? It contains nothing illegal.
FYI most of my 510 look like sharpie pens, I even try to write with them on occasion, I doubt anyone peering in yor car window is going to mistake that for anything 'else'.
