Thanks lupine. Alright, let's give that a shot. Here is what I'm trying to figure out. For the longest time now I have been using a smok gx2/4 with tfv 12 tank (4 18650 batteries). Well, I dropped it on concrete from about 7 feet up and, let's just say I had to get a new mod. So I just got the Aegis Legend and still using the tfv 12. Been doing a lot of reading about batteries and I need help figuring out the best ones to use for my setup. vaping at 130w on a 0.15 ohm coil. Can anyone help?

I would use 25a batteries at that wattage. I have been using the Samsung 25S batteries and they have been excellent, better than the Sony vtc5a batteries I used to use.

25a batteries are good for 75w each, and in a dual battery mod that will allow you up to 150w max. 20a batteries are good for 60w each, meaning in a dual battery mod, they will fall just short of what you need at 120w max.

Oh ok. I appreciate your input. I have one more question. I've been flirting with the idea of getting The Hive RTA. If I can keep my wattage the same with building coils, will the new tank affect what battery choice I should make?

When building coils, it can get better or worse battery life depending on what kind of coil you use. If the coil has a lot of metal in them (lots of wire used like fused claptons) then it could take more power to heat them up. If the coil has less metal in it (like a some round wire build) it could get better battery life since they could heat up much faster, using less battery power to get them up to a vaping temperature.

Try not to get hung up on what wattage you are at, since different coils could give you the same vape experience but at a lower wattage, or maybe it could take a higher wattage depending on what coil is used. Always start low and work up to what feels right to you when trying a new coil. But the tank doesn't determine the wattage, the coils do.

Mooch used a table in the below video to demonstrate how to choose a battery for a regulated mod. I've simply expanded the table to include more "Mooch approved" batteries. Use the wattage setting that you typically use and compare that with the amp rating of the battery(s).

-If you use a good quality 15 amp CDR battery like the Samsung 30Q or Sony VTC6, then you are good up to 45 watts per battery; 90 watts using two; 135 watts for three batteries.

-If you use a good quality 20 amp CDR battery like the LG HG2 or Samsung 25R then you are good for 60 watts per battery. If using a 2-battery regulated mod, you're good for 120 watts as you have two batteries. If you are using a 3-battery mod, you're good for 180.

-If you use a single 25 amp CDR battery like the Sony VTC5A, then you are good for 75 watts per battery, 150 watts for two batteries, and 225 watts with three.

-If you use a single 30 amp CDR battery like the LG HB6 you are good up to 90 watts; with a pair of 30 amp CDR batteries you could safely do 180 watts.
