I have a kgo on the way, but have been using my gf's 808 style...I like it for portability. I won't know yet, but I suspect I will want an 808 for backup/portability. all I really need is a couple batteries and a charger. She has ten carts and I looked up how to refil them.

So, who can recommend a good vendor for a couple manual batteries and a charger? I would be happy to support a vendor that supports the board. From what I see, it should be around $10/battery or so...but I would like shipping free, and fairly quick.

I'm open to suggestions outside an 808...but I want standard parts, small, and cheap. With what I am starting with, that leads me to think 808. Based on the starter kit from v2 I have access to, I can get my secondary usnit going for under $20...or $30ish with the two batteries I want. I am too new to be sinking much more than that into a secondary.

I think once you start using the kgo or and ego you'll prefer that.
The 510 connector has so many juice carrying options available. (carto's, tanks, etc.)
The 808's are a great starting point to switch, but the battery doesn't last long enough to get you through the day.
Check out vapor4life for 808 kits and a large selection of prefilled carto's and juices.
They're outside Chicago, so shipping will be pretty quick for you.

I second the Smokeless Image suggestion. The Volt has received nothing but great reviews (it's also an 808) and my dealings with Smokeless Image has completely sold me on them because of their great customer service. I ordered Friday night, my order was shipped Saturday morning (free priority shipping with orders over $55 USD), and my package is due to arrive no later than Tuesday. Plus they make a large battery that is compatible with 808 carts so you aren't wasting money if you decide to upgrade.

I have mods but I still use my 808s too when it's more convenient, especially when driving, I feel safer using an 808 than one of my bigger mod batteries. I have both smokeless image volt batteries and vapor4life batteries and like both. Both are over $10 for a battery tho but you should watch for sales to get the best deal. They both have forums here on ECF. Neither one has free shipping, SI has cheaper shipping because they have a first class option. Put in your state and zip code after adding something to your cart to see their shipping options and costs. V4L cheapest shipping is unforunately $7 but they DO ship fast.

OK, looks like no free shipping. I just want them for two reasons. My gf has a starter kit and I don't know how she will react to my kgo. I need her to have an extra battery to switch to vaping. I figure this means I should get myself a battery (or two) simply for the same reason loveridden mentioned, convenience.

Same two vendors I have been looking at are suggested, so it seems I'm on the right track there. TY all.

I’ll add my voice to those that are recommending a Volt.
I’ve had 3 cig-style systems (Blu 100 Premium, Volt and the 808 I got from the mall) and for a cig form factor it is by far the best. Smokeless Image is also a huge supporter of this forum (one of your requirements) and has fantastic customer service and reasonable prices.

Unlike many here, while my main PV is an eGo Twist (also have Kgo’s which I like) I always keep a Volt in my pocket. It serves as an emergency backup, I keep another flavor in it for variety, it’s great for a stealth vape and I enjoy that form factor more for driving. It performs surprisingly well and I use it every day.

Vapor Girl has a nice little kit with 2 bat's (1 white, 1 black), a charger and 2 carts for $19.95...with your choice of case covers. Very easy to carry and about the size of a wallet. I really like mine, even though I have bought bigger bat's from Bloog...I still use these when the others are charging or when I go out.

Edit: Vapor Girl is on the Forum also....it's how I found her ;)
