Ok, so I received some more samples juices yesterday and hated to waste half a bottle on a carto just to realize I didn't like it...tried the drip method, but I must be an idiot because I just can't seem to get the hang of it - either a burnt taste or super hot juice pops into my mouth?

I was using an LR atomizer (Titanium EM Riva 510 Low Resistance) attached to my Riva with a little pink drip tip. Instead of dripping through the drip tip, I dripped directly on atty and then put tip on.

Where exactly should the liquid go? My atty doesn't have any type of "bridge" looking thing - just a very small wick at the very bottom - shouldn't I be dripping directly on that wick (and that's not exactly easy - sometimes juice just goes to the side of it).

I should also note that I never could get these atomizers to work with cartridges either. One gives nothing but burnt taste and the other does nothing - no snap, crackle pop, no vapor - I think it's dead (I ordered these extra when I ordered my kit last week but I think I am atty challenged, lol.....)

I do LOVE LOVE LOVE vaping with my LR cartomizers but wanted to a) learn how to drip just to see if I liked it and b) learn how to drip to test liquids instead of having to fill a carto up first.

Thanks!!

I don't think dripping into a tank type atty will work out too well unless you are able to remove the spike plate first. The spike as you have discovered will prevent a lot of the liquid from reaching the coil. I'm not familiar with the atty you have so I don't know if plate is removable or not, hopefully someone else will chime in.

I've only ever dripped using a 510 atty and they all have some sort of metal bridge (bump) at the bottom. I aim for that. It doesn't have to be exactly dead on, but I aim for it. Put about 2-3 drops of liquid on it. 2 drops should be plenty when using an atty that isn't totally dry, but priming one that is dry takes a few more drops. I usually put 2 drops in a new atty, then sort of puff on the e-cig similar to how you would light a real cigarette. Do that a few times to warm up the atty and then add another drop of liquid to it, or 2 if one doesn't seem like enough. I'd rather have to add another drop than have too much that it floods the atty. I usually try to be conservative when dripping liquid in there.

Oh! If that is a tank system, then dripping isn't going to work. At least not to my knowledge. Dripping can only be done using a regular atomizer without the spike plate. I think maybe you'd need to find a compatible atty without the spike plate on it for it to work. I wouldn't try to remove the spike plate right now because you could end up permanently damaging it. Sorry I wish I could be of more help. I've never removed the spike plate from my tank system, I always just drip using my Vgo that just has a regular 510 atty.

How many drops do you put into a cartridge? I have some cartridges that came with my Kgo and I hate to wasted them. I have cartomizers, but I seem to get a better pull off the cartridges. Can they hold 5 drops or so?

I use 3 drops on a standard atty to try out juices. Never had a tank atty.

Dripping takes some patience but it's the cleanest, purest vape experience you can get. About your atty that won't fire: if it never did contact the vendor for a replacement. It's not unusual for an atty or carto to arrive DOA.

The atty that's popping juice at you: Take it off your PV and blow several times through it into a tissue to get the juice out of it. Re-attach and drip 4 or 5 drops in it. Press the button and wait 3-4 seconds before taking a draw. If it's tasting burnt you need a couple more drops. Once you get the atty primed, 2 drops for a 5-6 draw vape session works great. You want to hear a sizzle sound rather than a dry hiss or a gurgle. If you're not getting a clean taste or it's gurgling with not much vapor, remove, blow it out and start over. It sounds like a hassle but soon you'll know your perfect sound when to add 2 drops and it's vaping heaven. An atty can last you many months of great service. Have fun experimenting with it :)
