So I am about to dive into the DIY rabbit hole and I have a few questions for the real mixers in here. I really wanted to mix my own juice a few years ago when I started vaping, but I couldn't stand having to wait for anything I mixed up to steep before I could tell if it was any good, or if I needed to add anything or whatever...so I started building mods instead haha.

I'm looking to purchase a few liters of 100mg\ml VG nic base ( I generally prefer high or full VG juice) I'm thinking about either Nude Nic or Nicselect. I'm wondering if any of the different nic bases are better for vaping without steeping? I've read that some flavor genres generally require more steeping, etc. Are any particular brands, genre, etc of flavoring better suited for vaping without steeping.

I've read a lot about steeping, I've had some crap juice that turned out great after I forgot about it for a few months. (superman ice-cream from QTG) and I have had some juice from local shop that mixes to order that are pretty great too, so I'm wondering if you guys have figured it all out in the last few years since I last looked into it.

Thanks and if anyone has any other suggestions, anything you think I should know I'd sure appreciate hearing it!

@Tbev Steeping is something that can and can not produce a better tasting juice. Most of mine are shake and vapes where as some will get better with age and some will not. I know bakery/desserts take longer to come out for the real flavor. Then again, I have some desserts that taste great right out of the gate. Taste is very subjective. Also, your taste buds will change and sometimes you like a flavor where later you won't but still go back to it again. It is all up to the end user to determine if they like it or not. The 100 drop above mentioned is good if you are an impatient person. Out of all ingredients though, I found flavoring to be the largest cost per ml. One who wants to save money would use lower percentages but at the cost of time. I always have enough on hand where I do not have to wait to vape. I mix them before I need them so by the time I am ready to use, it will have sat enough time for the best flavor. I use max of around 11% flavoring for any of my juices. Hope this helps.

You guys rock, I really appreciate the info! I tried to read a couple blogs but I'm not allowed to because I'm a supplier, gotta love all the ECF rules. I remember everyone was using ultrasonic cleaners, maybe still do, but the magnetic stirrer sounds like the way to go for sure. What do you guys think about those two choices for nic base? Nude Nic or Nicselect?

I get my PG/VG from Essential Depot on Amazon. High quality stuff, great price.

Speaking of great price, consider signing up for Bulk pricing on the The Flavor Apprentice website. Free to do so and once you find flavors you like the price for the larger sizes can't be beat.

Dou you guys use heat with the magnetic stirrer? I'm looking at a couple different ones, they are around $100, some have a hot plate some don't
I don't, I've heard it will thin out the juice and mix better. Been on the fence with getting one with heat, one I have doesn't have the hotplate.

I don't have a mag stirrer - but it sounds like a great idea.
I buy Nude Nic all the time, but I've heard NicSelect recommended too -either one is probably top notch.
Regarding steeping - my experience is that
a) It does make a difference - but isn't NEEDED if your fresh juice is good
b) Except for some flavorings, that come with a strong "perfume" or "alcohol" scent - those I found needed OPEN AIR steeping before I could handle them. And these tended to be common among Vanillas and Tobaccos.
Have fun!!

Many are using crock pots instead of ultrasinic cleaners and they do just as good a job. A few hours in the crock pot set to low and your good to go. But I always say try the mix when first made and if it's good then vape it. If it's not steep it. If it's still not good after steeping then down the drain it goes:)
