Nemesis and the Beauty Ring

I got my Nemesis clone from vaporbreak not too long ago, I noticed most people run their nemesis without the beauty ring for some reason. The only way I can get past the crunchy switch is to use the beauty ring and unscrew the bottom pin a bit so that the switch is over the bottom lip of the 18650 tube. Otherwise the button gets caught along the bottom which results in the annoying crunch and unresponsive button. Am I at any lose when using the beauty ring when it comes to connectivity?

Beauty ring?

Yeah, I took a photo to explain better, its the part that my thumb nail is on.

Yeah, take that piece off and your problems will be solved :)

Well if I take the piece off, the switch gets caught on the bottom of the tube. I tried tightening the silver plated screw all the way in the switch but it still is crunchy/unresponsive. Adding the ring gets rid of the switch problems for me, but I just wanted to know if there is any connectivity issues when using the ring, as in voltage drops

A simple answer to your question would be, no.

Actually im 100% sure your pin isn't all the way screwed down. With one hand put your index and middle fingers on the black portion of the button and press the bottom of it with your thumb, exposing the pin fully, then screw it all the way down with your other hand. It will occasionally come loose like that if it isn't super tight, but this is the fix for that

You're not going to lose any conductivity with the ring or without.

Alright thanks alot!

Yeah I already tried this, I even tightened it down with needlenose pliers.

ressurecting this thread as my friend was worried because he has a secondhand nemi clone that didnt come with a beauty ring.

here are my findings:

my 18650 sony flat top batteries are too short to use with the beauty ring, and i have to loosen the button screw almost all the way in order to get the button to work correctly.

on the other hand, my 18350 trustfire button top batteries are too long to use without it. with the button screw all the way in, and the button tightened down, you can still see between the bottom of the body tube with the locking ring on it and the button.

^ This is spot on with my hcigar nemesis. The button top 18350's are in between in size and it's either crappy, or crappier. I just run it without the ring and let it hang a little. With the ring on the firing pin is dangerously loose and I don't trust it not finding a way to come loose all together.

And despite what was mentioned - I get a lot more failures to fire when the ring is on in 18350 mode because of that loose firing pin.

agreed. I was using it in 18650 mode with flat top batteries, and the beauty ring installed (before I figured out it actually came off) and I had to loosen that pin almost all the way out. which meant I was constantly taking the switch out and readjusting it so that it would fire. it would take a couple of hours for the darn thing to be so loose that the button would catch and it would be damn near impossible to get it to fire.

got that beauty ring out (had to put it in the freezer as it was pretty stuck in there) and now I can tighten everything down and go all day without having to screw with it. :thumb:
