Nemesis and the Beauty Ring

I got my Nemesis clone from vaporbreak not too long ago, I noticed most people run their nemesis without the beauty ring for some reason. The only way I can get past the crunchy switch is to use the beauty ring and unscrew the bottom pin a bit so that the switch is over the bottom lip of the 18650 tube. Otherwise the button gets caught along the bottom which results in the annoying crunch and unresponsive button. Am I at any lose when using the beauty ring when it comes to connectivity?

I found that magnets from Michaels Arts & Crafts work great. I wrapped tape along the edge so if it was to shift off to one side the mod wouldn't start to auto fire. And of course the magnet is on the negative side of the battery, never the positive side.

And thanks to xSKOOBSx for the freezer tip. I was going to try liquid nitrogen at work but this was easier and safer.

They work for me. I have to use three of them in 18650 mode. Buy a couple extra, because they are fragile, or so I've heard.

A magnet swap instead of springs will help too.. just don't set it down without the lock ring in place. Dielectric lube on the switch helps too.

If you purchase magnets for your nemi then NO MORE CRUNCH! I purchased a pack of 10 from fasttech.com for a little over $2!

That ring is so you can run a fuse.

It is not needed for the mod to function

It's not about its "function" for me... It's about the looks!

It looks good either way, but the ring makes it look that much better. It's a .....ty design, it SHOULD work in 18650 mode, but as others have already said... You have to loosen the firing pin and button until it almost falls off!

BTW: I HAVE A REAL NEMESIS AND ITS STILL AN ISSUE.

The whole idea is to use different combination of pieces to make different batteries fit, and sometimes you need additional pieces.

For example:

18650 tube with beauty ring and original top screw
kick-2 and Efest 18500 button top battery
FatDaddyVapes magnets and extended screw in switch.
(you can put a thin washer under the bottom screw if you don't want to buy the FatDaddy kit.)
Just make sure that the head of the screw is lower than the top of the insulator.

To use a flat top 18650 battery in the same tube combination, I just need to install the FatDaddy extended top screw.

So there is always a way.

In my experience there is a slight voltage drop with the beauty ring. Oh, and in ss and lower ohm builds hard shorts on the weakest threads (beauty ring). It doesn't feel too good.

The switch screw isn't meant to be adjustable...it's meant to hold stuff together. If you need to loosen the switch contact screw to make the mod work with the beauty ring, drop the beauty ring, or get the longer contact screws, or pick up the fuse, or whatever else you need if you really want it to be there. Stop loosening the screw to make it fire before you run into an issue.
