Hi,

I bought a nemesis clone yesterday and wanted to put my Efest 18650 in it's a button top battery. When everything is assembled, I found that I had to unscrew the switch quite a bit for it to fit. Is it supposed to look like this or did I assemble it wrong? It fires fine like this.

I was having problems with my battery fitting correctly until REMOVED the kick ring. It is a little thin chrome ring between the top tube and the top cap. By removing that ring you can then screw the switch screw all the way down tight and it will fit perfectly. Solves the issue.

That is actually Backward.
Removing the ring - sometimes needed - Shortens the tube. That would induce less distance for switch to be able to travel before becoming secure.:)

I run the ring with Flat tops with proper switch adjustment so button tops should work a bit easier as the bottom pin would need little to no adjustment.

Thanks for the advice! I had already taken the kick ring off, as I knew this was a newb mistake from researching the mod before I bought it. I will give crxess' advice a go once I get home and can access my tools.

Cheers!

EDIT: I tried it with the kick ring in place yesterday, and it wasn't making contact. I guess it's one of those "little bit here, little bit there" kinda deals. I'll play with it more tonight with the ring on/off.

The problem he is having is the screw in the switch has to be so loose to make contact with the battery that the switch sticks out and is very wobbly and has a long throw. By removing the kick ring I was able to tighten the screw switch down completely AND made contact with the battery thereby shortening the throw. Mine looked identical until I read on here about it having a kick ring, that needed to be removed. Most people don't see it, I didn't. Once removed, switch screw tightened, problem solved.

Another thing I just thought of it to be sure you have the correct tube for the size battery you are using. Mine came with a 18500 tube as well as a 18650 tube. Just a thought.

So Mavric, did you get it figured out?

Nope. My clone doesn't have a pin you can use a flathead on, only some tread on the side that you have to use your fingers on or a vice grip, and it's screwed all the way in already. Not sure what to do at this point :/

EDIT: I fixed it. For some reason it didn't occur to me that I could unscrew that bottom pin and use the kick ring. Looks much better now.

I've got my one set up with a 18650 protected button top and have it as follows, top cap, long tube without logo, thin brass beauty ring, long tube with logo, end cap. I have the bottom pin screwed in all the way and the top pin out by 2.5mm ish, allows for a nice secure fit and all tubes locked together nicely with a short throw and not too much crunchiness on the button but got magnets on the way to get that smooth action.

The top pin on your nemesis, is it one of the telescoping ones? If not it needs to be adjusted to your atty. Unscrew it for a bit and seat the atty all the way so there is no gap. Then screw the top pin in until it makes good contact on the atty. Put the top back on and the assemble and screw the bottom on until it tightens.
