I need to do some video card upgrades to my machine before EQN comes out. I'm still running the integrated ati 4300/4500 series craptastic graphics. Any suggestions on a low priced, but decent video card would be greatly appreciated. I'll more then likely have to upgrade my power supply also, but I can figure that out.

Tough to say really. I am running a fully custom Mythlogic laptop w/ a GeForce GTX 680m in it (which is basically a mobile version of the 670 desktop version) and the game isn't running that well.

I'm sure a lot of that has to do with it being an unoptimized beta build, but from what I see, I won't be forking over $50 for the final build either.

That watermark is really annoying. I played for a bit. It seems pretty typical of most MMOs I've played. Everytime I get an itch to play one, I log in and am reminded why I don't play them. I know this is beta, but the graphics are rather weak. Ran fine on my old system, no crashes. I'll play some more tomorrow.

Dang I'm old. My brother (9 years younger) got Pong for xmas when I was almost 22. I've always been into computers even before there was a WWW. anything. Just never got into the games. So after reading this whole thread I'm still lost. Hope you all have a good time with it.....note to self you're back to negative cool points.

yeah. I gave up hours ago. The Mrs. actually brought home a case of monster for me thinking i'd be up all night playing. I cant even get past the server full message. Yes, the watermarks are quite irritating.

Going to try again tomorrow, but like you, I see myself just being reminded why I dont MMO anymore.

Maybe i'll reinstall Rift since it's f2p now

Maybe it's just that I'm burned out on MMO's but this felt more like an alpha than a beta. Running around in Skyrim, with graphics that looks far worse than actual Skyrim, was just underwhelming to me. Somehow the combat is even clunkier than Skyrim.

I really would like to explore the rest of the world, I'd like to see the other regions, but I certainly can't do that in one weekend.

And this was painfully obvious: So Jeremy Soule isn't doing the music for Elder Scrolls: Online.

Now, Jeremy Soule has done the music for Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim, along with many, many, other games, but he also does the music for Guild Wars, and Guild Wars 2, so I can understand the conflict of interest. Still, that Morrowind theme is part of what made me fall in love with the Elder Scrolls series.

Just got back from a wedding, leaving soon for the reception. I'll be on later. As clunky as they are, I do prefer the real time combat controls, over the click and wait for my attack to go off that most other MMOs use. I'm not hating it anymore than any other MMO, but it also hasn't given me any desire to play it.

Played some more, hating it less, but still not loving it.

I like the first person view, but am finding combat is working better for me in third person. It's really pseudo real time combat, as I can see the wolves wind up their attacks and then hit me, when I'm 15 feet away from them, because they are still locked onto me.

I've had two situations where it locked me into talking with an NPC after the conversation ended. My only option was to log out to the server screen, and then log back in.

Yeah man. I gave up on it. If I want to play Skyrim, I'll play skyrim. I have yet to find any group-oriented gameplay in this game.

I seriously feel like they just re-coded/re-quested skyrim for a MMO. It's like trying to enjoy a single-player console game with MMO lag. The action-based combat does not work with lag...

So, I finished the quest in the first area, and made it to the next, no more Skyrim for now. The next area is pretty cool, and I've got a much better handle on the combat mechanics. I'm actually enjoying the game now, though I still hate the MMO standard of tripping over quests wherever you go. Not sure if I'll get to play more before they shut it down tonight, but I'd like to. I highly recommend finishing the quests in the first area, it gets better from there.
