For those that played, check your email for a survey. Can't hurt to take it. Reading the Gamefaqs board showed a lot of unhappy people, but a few that liked it. I still think the game has potential.

Speaking of potential, anyone seen anything about Black Desert Online?

Only got to play for about 20 minutes...not enough to really form an opinion...but for the record I loved Skyrim. I'm a traditionalist...I like my fantasy high and my sci-fi hard.

@newplague, if you like flight sims the alpha version IL-2 Battle of Stalingrad was just released for those who pre-purchased (not sure if it's still available but it's somethign to look forward to) and Rise of Flight is currently the leading WWI FS.

yeah. I gave up hours ago. The Mrs. actually brought home a case of monster for me thinking i'd be up all night playing. I cant even get past the server full message. Yes, the watermarks are quite irritating.

Going to try again tomorrow, but like you, I see myself just being reminded why I dont MMO anymore.

Maybe i'll reinstall Rift since it's f2p now

That is strange. Myself and 3 other star wars guildmates had a lot of issues Friday...but sat and Sunday we were on all day and most of the night without too many issues. In fact by Sunday a lot of the server laggyness was gone so combat was a lot smoother.

I have been on beta for star trek and star wars, and to me this beta os in much better state then those two were. And the two I mentioned I was in beta just a month or two before release. Eso is still 5-6 months out...I am very impressed with where they are.

Graphics wise, I was playing high settings and I thought it looked just a tad worse than skyrim. Which considering this is a mmo that's impressive as well. It certainly looks waaay better than SWTOR.

This message sent from Mars! Isn't it lovely! Using Tapatalk2.

I was so looking forward to trying this out. After the server issues they were having Friday night, I wasn't too impressed.

On Saturday, finally was able to log in and do a bit of playing. Still not impressed.

They provide WASD movement via the keyboard, but you still have to use the mouse for directional control? I was expecting a MMO based game, not FPS or console type play. Any graphic setting change in game resulted in 2-3 minutes of staring at the screen waiting for lord knows what to occur in the background.

As a long time WoW player (and tried a host of other MMOs like SWTOR, LOTRO, RIFT, etc.) if they were expecting to entice the MMO crowd into playing, they failed miserably.

I won't be buying this one.

Rise of Flight looks pretty cool. I'll have to check out the F2P option.

Please do! The more the merrier.

Just so you're aware...the F2P version is identical to the full version. You're just limited by the number of flyable planes you have available to you. If there is a particular plane you're interested in you can just buy it. They're pretty cheap and they have sales all the time. It's a pretty nice business model for such a niche product.

I play FF14:ARR on Gilgamesh. I enjoy it, been a fan of the FF for ages. I did apply for the beta of TESO but from what I have read I think I will be stearing clear, which is too bad since the lore is great. A great back story needs to be backed by equally good gameplay. I also play BF4 to mix things up a bit.

I am looking forward to Destiny as well, I just wish they'd make a PC version. I don't feel like shelling out $$$ on a system I'll only play one game on. I like console shooters, problem is I am horrible with controllers. I feel at home with WASD/Mouse. EQN looks like it will get my attention as well, dynamic enviornments just look so bad-.... Wildstar should also get an honorable mention, looks like fun.

Unfortunatly I do not think we will see BD in the west. It really is sad since there are so many great MMO's that come from the KR region :(

Been toying with the idea of subscribing to FF14. The thing that's been holding me back is whether the game will be updated on a regular basis with new content. Regardless of what one thinks of Blizzard, the one thing they've done very well to stretch out the WoW franchise is to release new content on a fairly regular basis. It's one of the things that's kept me playing for 9 years.

I tend to play the same way. I'm not really in it for the end game content, although that's fun as well. I like to go off on my own and explore the nooks and crannies that the developers have created for us.

Then, I beleive you would really like FF14. The game design is very well done. The lore is great, it makes you want to take a breather and not rush endgame.

I participated in the last beta before they went live and enjoyed myself immensely. But, as I'm on a tight budget, I look at gaming as a long term investment rather than tear through the content and look to the next big thing. I don't mind subscribing to two at the same time, but I'd like to think that what I'm subscribing to will be supported longer than a few months to a year.

That's my one big fear with FF14. If the existing content is it, I'm reluctant to buy into it only to see it dry up and die a year down the road.

Patch 2.1 is being released in December, which ushers in loads of new content. Right now the fastest content publisher I would have to say is GW2. I enjoy that as well but I just need a change of pace every once in a while.

So I played the entire weekend and ended up at about level 11. I think the PVE needs a lot of work but the PVP was fantastic. Once I got to Cyrodiil and got into the battles It felt epic. Looking forward to more ESO sorry i'm not going into more details (NDA)

Didn't get into any PVP, and I only made it to level 5 or 6. I was getting a handle on the PVE combat, and almost to the point where I liked it. I'm hoping they can polish some of that stuff before release.

I hear you Vapolith i'm just trying to remember it's closed/early beta so most of the stuff i dislike will be fixed. Here's hoping for a good launch.:toast:
