I have to agree with everyone else here, no reason to pick up an addiction just for the sake of having it. nicotine does give you a minor buzz when you first start using it but after that its just something you need to have a half way decent day
There is no scientific evidence to support the opinion that nicotine (in normally used doses) is harmful to human health. Smoking is harmful. CASAA.org has plenty of information about this.
Is this a bad idea? The health effects don't seem to be too bad. How rewarding is it compared to the buzz from a single alcoholic drink of a energy drink?
I am starting to think that wiki article may be biased. It also states that nicotine by itself has low addition and it is the combination of nicotine and the MAOI inhibitors found in burning tobacco that makes it very addictive.
I'm not aware of any bad side effects of using e-cigs. Nicotine is a misunderstood drug which is about about as harmful as a cup of coffee. Yes, it's addictive, but it's also beneficial in that it enhances things like memory and concentration, and is a great way to calm down and relax and cope with stress. It is not known to contribute to any disease. If someone wants to try it, I say go for it.
Really? You think vaping PG/VG and all sorts of flavorings is healthy for your lungs? Nothing but oxygen is safe. We're just hoping it's safer than smoking, but NO one really knows. Why ruin a perfect pink healthy set of lungs? Id kill to be healthy again. Please don't do it!
I just turned 28.
I wasn't aware that vaping made your lungs less pink. My lungs are much, much cleaner after 8 months of vaping. Vaping is a good thing. I know that because I can breathe better and I stopped coughing up black gunk. utahraptor sounds like the kind of person who would probably start smoking if he didn't start vaping.
That's because like the vast majority of us here, you used to smoke. While there is plenty of literature that suggests that vaping is safer than smoking, I don't think anyone has scientifically proven that it is completely safe.
Utahraptor isn't a smoker to begin with. What is the point of spending money to take up something that is used as an alternative to smoking when you don't even smoke in the first place?
I shouldn't pick on you for choosing to get addicted to a substance like nicotine. I did that when I smoked my first cig. Make no mistake, nicotine is highly addictive. I thought I'd just try one. I was stronger than any addiction. Wrong! Start vaping nicotine and I can almost guarantee that you will choke on the dust of your own regret.
28? And still chasing a "buzz"? [/my interest in this thread]
