I got a couple of the new 2012 brass springs from COV and installed 'em in my GGs. The resistance is quite a bit less than the stock springs. Can I double up the springs for more resistance?

By resistance, I'm assuming you mean physical resistance (springy-ness)? Have you noticed any difference in resistance in terms of conductivity?

Yes, 'springy-ness'.

They might work slightly better in terms of conductivity, or it could just be that they're new - hard to say. ;-)

IMO, the new 2012 button performs noticeably better that the 2011 button and I think the brass spring has a lot to do with it. I took it off my SS Stealth the day I got it and installed it on my ssggts and noticed some improvement right away. The real improvement I'm noticing is in consistency and longevity. I have not cleaned it even once yet. My old button got cleaned and spring sanded every few days because performance would start dropping. I'm very happy with it.

The brass should be considerably less resistance, you are supposed to use both ;) I'm interested to try them, I don't know enough about brass, to know whether they will retain their springiness as long as a spring steel spring. Maybe Imeo will chime in or someone with some more knowledge regarding the metallurgy of brass

Well now aren't I stupid - I took the two brass springs and put them in two TS's. They work fine for me that way. Didn't know you were suppose to entwine as big as they are.

I'm sorry, I wasn't implying you need to double up the springs. I'm just saying I got two stealths straight from COV and both had 2 springs installed that way. I like a little more resistance in mine and it works fine for me that way. The only reason I even found out there were two springs in the new button was because I took 1 out to trade for an old style brass button.

They dont keep their springiness well Rick but new GG button has long neck inside button so it press very hard the spring. That means that even if spring lose its springiness, it will still fire as usual
