Just a quick curiosity question about these new springs

Is the change in material to improve conductivity through the switch mechanism? Or some other reason?

I got a couple of these in today and installed one while I had everything torn apart for cleaning. The springs are definitely much lighter than the one I had in there before, making the button press virtually effortless. I'm just curious if that was the goal or if there were any other considerations that prompted a new spring being introduced

I think it's for better conductivity and lower maintenance. The older springs had to be sanded and cleaned often for maximum performance because they would turn black rather quickly. These new springs should be lower maintenance and will not need to be sanded. And I agree, it is a lighter spring but not too light imo.
