Hi Everyone:

Where is everyone buying their DSE-901s? Is it possible that some sellers are getting their supply from different manufacturers and that some are better built battery-wise than others? For instance, I purchased one from Puresmoker.com, and though I do not use it often, I haven't noticed any decline in the battery-charging hold.

I don't want this to be taken as anything negative about puresmoker. This is simply a quality control issue with the manufacturer and something suppliers have no control over. As far as suppliers go, I think Puresmoker does a great job. But I have to say purely from a product quality standpoint I am not happy with the 901. 1 of 4 atomizers were messed up (2 really, one came back to life) and both of my batteries went kaput. I've been taking very good care of this stuff. Not letting it get too hot, charging on the right cycles, etc - just some bad luck I guess. I'll talk to puresmoker I'm sure they will straighten everything out with my battery. I disassembled the other bad one and made a switched USB powered casing out of it, which is working like a champ. I wouldn't give that one back for anything. The other one I just want to use when out and about, but it just goes dead too quickly.

That's cool that you made a USB-powered battery for your DSE-901. If I'm not mistaken, I think Puresmoker sells USB adapters too.

Has anyone tried the USB adapter for the DSE-901? If so, how do you like it power-wise?

That one is just a charger. The one I built you can connect like a battery and smoke with it. It has no battery power it's solely powered by the USB port. Maybe I'll do a video and show people how well it really works. There have been some doubters! haha

Okay. Thank you for clearing that up. I purchased the Janty Classic Kissboxes for both my sister and me, and loved them while they lasted. The manual and the auto switches went out on both of our kits, but I purchased them a few months ago, and I understand that the technology has improved since my purchases. The customer service at Janty USA is excellent. I just haven't gotten around to exchanging them yet.

PS: DO THE VIDEO!!!!

Yeah, the manual switch buttons would push in or pop off. But I haven't heard any complaints about the new and improved stuff. So I am going to contact Jeff about some replacements for my platinum Classics. And I prefer the manual switch over the auto. I think I get a better hit with the manual.

a rechargeable battery has a design life.. it could be 500 charge/discharge cycles.. this is an ideal world design life.. a donkey doing a cart horses job aint a happy donkey and will soon die.. your e cig battery is just such a donkey..

it goes like this.. if i was to design a battery powered device i would first work out what battery was needed to power the device.. i would then build my device around this needed battery.. the size of the device would be governed by the size of the needed battery.. all very simple..

the chinese follow a different logic path... they first work out what us silly westerners will buy.. they then make it.. the size of the needed battery is way down on their priority list.. we want small smoking tubes they sell us small smoking tubes.. work the rest out for yourself marian..

Trog is the man! He knows everything about batteries and hes 100 percent right too! Have you ever seen a heating element powered by a tiny LiIon battery you usually see powering a small thing like a mobile telephone? Or a battery that looks like it couldn't even power a small clock radio? Well thats about what those poor ecig batteries have to power every day of their lives!

Imagine a big electric heater turned on full and looking at the electric meter then a television or radio you know that big heaters take up big power compared to electronic devices such as tellies! Well small heaters suck power from small batteries too and lithium Ion batteries don't like it grr!
