Been a long while since I posted here last so I am pretty much a complete rookie again.

Looking to upgrade to something a little more current. I am still using an iTaste MVP I bought during a group buy like 2 years ago or more but I havent been keeping up so have no idea what the latest and greatest is.

What is important to me is A) Taste/flavour and B) nice clouds, dont care as much about throat hit. I am not terribly comfortable with anything complicated or building my own coils or anything so any suggestions (good, better, best?) on good devices, tanks, and coils would be welcomed.

Thanks in advance for any advice guys.

Oh budget isnt an issue, I mean it IS (isnt it always) but if I have to pony up a little extra to get an Awesome vape, Im willing to consider it

The main difference in today's vape gear from your MVP is more power and more battery time in a smaller package, and somewhat better tank technology.

By the way, "throat hit" has more to do with the amount of nicotine in the e-liquid, than the battery device or juice attachment.

Any of the regulated box mods in my Good Starter Setups for a Beginner Vaper will be a huge improvement from your MVP. You could also spend about $200 on a Provari Radius if you want to invest in something that will probably outlive you. Why Provari?

Tank-wise, since you aren't interested in building your own coils, the Aspire Nautilus or Aspire Atlantis are pretty reliable tanks with easy to replace factory coils and also easy to fill. Pretty decent flavor and vapor production. Both have air control to allow differences in vape draw preferences.

Well, if flavor is what you crave, and if you want to try out the latest and greatest, I recently received a mod/tank combo that is very new on the market and I am VERY pleased and impressed with it. It uses replaceable coil heads, so no worries about having to learn to rebuild. It also uses a ceramic wick/coil set-up that is giving me the absolute best flavor I have EVER gotten out of a vaping device. And I've been vaping for over 6 years! As an added bonus? It can also use coil heads from the Aspire Atlantis, the Melo 2, and a couple of other tanks... The mod is 75W capable, uses a replaceable 18650 battery, and has temperature control function (with the nickel heads only).

Anyway, here are a few links where you can get the device:
Target 75VTC at Heaven Gifts (They have SUPER fast shipping!)
Target 75VTC at FastTech
Target 75VTC at Vape NW (They actually have replacement coils in stock, but only have nickel coils for temperature control.)

If you have any questions, feel free to ask here or send me a PM. There are some other coils that will work in the Target VTC, but I'll have to look into which ones if you wanna know.

Oh! And welcome to the community... Again!!

Typically, I build all of my own coils as well. It's been years since I've bought a replaceable unit or used a carto... but this new tank is nothing like any of the old stuff we were used to. I've gone through about 5 tanks now without a single drip of leakage, flavor is phenomenal, and vapor production is pretty decent. I've only used the 0.9 ohm kanthal coil so far, but I am definitely impressed. It's a very nice device/tank for 'out & about'. I can definitely see myself using it quite a bit to take a break from building and wick maintenance...

Just to add, I build all my own coils/wicks, too.

I've been vaping for nearly 4 years, from the cartotank and clearomizer days. I resisted rebuilding for my first couple of years, but the inconsistent quality of the carto's & clearo heads drove me to learn how to rebuild, and I've never looked back again. It's cheaper to rebuild, doesn't take long to make, and isn't hard to learn. My coils last for months. The flavor and vapor production is incomparable. With a rebuildable dripper, I can change flavors on a whim.

However, I understand the resistance to learn. One day, you'll probably join us, too.

Northern NJ native , Coastal NC now.
I had a few MVP 2.0's which maxes out at eleven watts and did the job with clearo's .

I liked Innokins quality so when i wanted to try something with a little more power i settled on the MVP 20 watt versions which have not disappointed .

They are cheap and vape really well , i personally like them and recommend them over iSticks and just feel it's an all around better quality mod.

I also vape RTA's 98% of the time at well under 20 watts and the flavor is outstanding , i am not a fan of sub ohm vaping for a variety of reasons.

I am not really familiar with sub ohm vaping to be honest, other than seeing it mentioned a lot I dont know what it is and why anyone would want to (or not want to) do it.

I will look over the options here. The $200 radius might be a ..... much for me, with the Canadian exchange rate at the moment thats like $300, a bit much, but I will keep it in mind.

I am not completely opposed to learning to build my own coils, I just always assumed since I have no idea what Im doing, that the packaged coils would be a better or at least more consistent option

Good luck in your quest, Xexist! I do hope that you find something new and exciting to play with. I just finished my review of the Target mod and just wanted to reiterate for you that I believe the new cCells that they use are the best thing for pre-packaged coils that I've ever seen... 0.9 ohms is barely sub-ohm, and is giving me great flavor at 35-40W. I also just found out that the cCell coils will also fit into the Atlantis, Melo 2, and Anyvape Fury tank... among a few others, I believe. So even if you pick one of those other tanks, you could still give these coil heads a try. :)

The iTaste MVP (I assume first gen? I dont see a version number on it) is what I am using and with THIS tank, just to be clear what I am currently using
Innokin have more or less recreated the iClear30S tank with a new cotton wick tank.

The 'package' is called Endura T18 or T22.
It vapes at 14 watts, which is more than both the MVP version 1 and 2.
Personally, I couldn't be bothered with a 1,100 mAh battery, but the tank itself is nice enough if you can live with the tight draw.
I am ordering 20 sets next week... all to give away.

Can point me in the direction of what difference watts and ohms and all that mean to vaping, in laymans terms? Why would I want higher, or lower. What does resistance do for me? I do kinda like the look of that Target, but I am a sucker for marketing talk so it might just be the gimmicky bits sucking me in

oh also temperature controlling. Why? lol

Well, in laymans terms:
Watts is power... it allows you to heat the coil farther and faster.
Ohms is resistance... resistance in the wire is what allows the voltage to create heat.
This all comes into play more with mechanical mods than regulated mods... or at least, it's a more delicate balance there.

With regulated mods, you just need a coil... then you adjust your wattage to the point to where you are happy with the temperature of the vape, the flavor produced, and the volume of the cloud.

As for temp control. Well... it is another parameter that you can use to fine tune your vape. You can set the temperature to, let's say, 350°F. That point is high enough to generate vapor, but low enough to actually not burn your juice or wicks. It protects you from the really harsh dry hits because as the wick begins to become dry, the vapor production will drop off before you burn your wick. It's actually quite handy!

The Target is actually pretty awesome... it's smaller than I imagined from the pictures. Super comfortable to hold, and the thing has been rockin' my world for two days straight now... gimmicky or not, the flavor that comes out of this thing is insane. Just don't pay much attention to their claims of "self-cleaning" coils... what they mean by that is, if you get a dry hit or if you overpower the coil and get a burnt hit, the wick is resistant and will recover... unlike cotton in which if you burn the wick, you might as well throw it away and put in a new one... because it's gonna taste like crap forever after being burnt.

I failed to notice you're in Canada. I totally understand a Provari purchased outside of the US is an expensive item.

Up until the last 16 months, I was what this forum calls a "Tootle Puffer". Someone who vapes standard resistance (above 1.5 ohm) coils at lower wattage levels (under 12 watts). Once I began making my own coils, I began to experiment with lower ohm coils, and learned to like/prefer it. I'm at a reasonable resistance -- 0.6 ohm. I guess its something that I naturally progressed into.

It's important to understand that sub-ohm vaping doesn't necessarily equate with a hot or harsh vape. It can improve the flavor profile and produces much more vapor.

Can point me in the direction of what difference watts and ohms and all that mean to vaping, in laymans terms? Why would I want higher, or lower. What does resistance do for me? I can't speak for temp control. I'm not familiar with it.

I wrote a blog article on Ohm's Law Explained for Vapers. In layman's terms...

Lower Ohm Coils Will:

Produce A Warmer Tasting Vape
Heat The Coil Faster & Hotter
Produce More Vapor
Drain The Battery Faster
Use E-Juice Faster

Higher Ohm Coils Will:

Provide A “Cooler” Tasting Vape
Heat The Coil Slower with Less Heat
Produce “Less” Vapor
Use Less E-Juice
Prolong Battery Life

just went digging through a cupboard and found a 5pack of coils I had misplaced forever ago. I can vape without that burnt taste again yay!

@Kaezziel Thank you very much for your time friend

No problem! Give that contest I tagged you in a try... they still have 4 tanks and 3 kits to give away. And, you can enter each round 5 times.
