Hi Folks!

For many reasons, I just HAVE to get rid of these darn tobacco cancer sticks. Not because I want to, as I'm someone who enjoyed smoking, and all the other 'help', (gum, patches, etc.) just never helped. I've only heard about e-cigs for about a month now, and I've spent endless hours online reading about them and trying to find a place like this forum that has lots of folks who actually use them as well as post their experiences with different types and suppliers.

A friend had ordered that trial from Smoking Everywhere, and was almost scammed pretty badly. (I'll be happy to give anyone details if they want to know.) He never got the option to order menthol which both of us smoke, so it wasn't a very fair trial. Not to mention that we have no idea what the nicotine level is if there is any.

I've gone to a few recommended suppliers looking for a basic starter kit, but nothing has worked for me. I am used to smoking a 100 menthol light, like Marlboro Menthol Lights 100, Salem, Basic and for the last few years have been ordering off the internet and getting off brands as cost IS important to me! Also, having a PLAIN white MENTHOL cig with a white top, (or even yellow top is ok) is very important to me and my friend.

I just want a plain ol' basic cig, and the ones I've seen look like kid's candy, and not what I want to puff or vape on.

I don't mean to insult anyone's preference, but I would think a plain one would be easiest to find, considering that it is a rather boring looking thing! I see there are many suppliers that carry menthol drops, so I'm not worried about that. Now if I could find a boring white cig battery with a white top (cartridge or atomizer) I would be very happy!

I know there are lots of folks out there, so I'm hoping someone can help me with this.

Thanks much for reading this newbie's plight. I really appreciate any help I get!

)

A 510 comes in white with a small gold band where the filter would attach to an analog. Other than a black small button (covered with your finger mostly) for the battery, it looks like an analog. I got mine a month ago today and haven't smoked since. Thats after a 45 years at 2 packs a day mostly. I hardly ever smoked menthol, but I did order a bottle of mint and I enjoy the cool taste of it. I ordered an abundance of Marl and Camel liquid and a sample of Coffee. Love the Coffee. Good luck on quiting.

They're also super-popular, so lots of places (e.g. Rocky Mountain Vapor) are all out of the white body/orange LED units

If you want the most cig-looking unit, and don't mind sacrificing some performance, look at super-minis (smaller than the 510/901/VaporKing). But you can get 510s in white from bestecig (BestEcig-Newest Mini E-cigarette|E-cigarette|wholesale e-liquid), as well as smaller models also in white.

One thing: The BE line is basically knockoffs of other e-cigs (e.g. they make their own 510s, rather than selling Joye 510s). Some people think their "knockoffs" are better than the originals (lots of people say the BE112 is a better atomizer than the "name brand" 801 it matches), but it's something worth knowing.

litecigusa dot net has the M401, M402 and M403 in white. The cartomizer blanks can be ordered in tan. I'd post links, but apparently I don't have enough street cred here to do that yet. ;)

I ordered a M402 dual atty kit from litecig. The order shipped on Monday, arrived at my door on Thursday. From what I've read on their subforum, USPS took their sweet time delivering mine because they usually arrive two days after shipping. Also, I placed a new order for some odds and ends today, it was processed in minutes and got my shipping notice maybe a half hour after placing the order.

The only problem with the analog sized PV's, from my short experience with my M402, is the short battery life. I'm getting somewhere between an hour and two hours (haven't really timed it) on a charge. I'm going to need a USB passthrough for the chain vaping I do at my computer desk.

Many people really think they'll only be able to switch if they have something that replaces the size/feel of a cigarette. A few months later we all usually regret what we bought (wasting money) and end up buying a new starter kit/attys/cartridges/passthrough, etc. etc. I'd hate to see you go that route.

I've used 4 different models (510, 801, 901 and 401). I believe that if you really insist on something that looks like a cigarette, the white 510 is the way to go (sealed battery on a manual, so liquid won't ruin it, and the longer Mega Power battery is available to you later if you decide you are tired of recharging a battery every hour and a half (they last 4 hours or so). You control the power of the battery to the atomizer (manual button), rather than an automatic battery which is controled by your puffing (and has a set cut off and may activate by itself with noise or vibration such as a 401). A PCC to charge the 510 batteries on the go is highly recommended.

There IS a learning curve with them, but to replace cigarettes, it is the way to go for a first unit. Liquid in them is important so they don't get a burnt taste. Easy to avoid that if you get in the habit of putting a drop on the atomizer bridge (inside the atty) every time you refill a cartridge or buy a new atomizer (put in 3 then). Buy plenty of liquid right away when you order (what ever model you finally decide to buy).

These guys have a white 510 that looks lots like a cigarette. PHX SMOKELESS CIGARETTES - The PHX Middie Starter Kit (DSE 901) - The future in smokeless cigarettes is here! I also like Totally Wicked's 510 products (they have white) and the 'boxless' kit from Cignot your Midwest Electronic Cigarette store. is black but only $35.

If you decide on a 510, I hope you will read this area of the forum as much as you can and ask lots of questions. You'll save yourself lots of frustration and headaches and will probably be wanting to leave smoking forever once you get it down.

There are model specific discussion threads set up here as well for what ever you decide to buy. You can read helpful threads on all the models here:

Great decision to start vaping! I quit a pack a day habit in 2 weeks (and haven't smoked in 6 months). Best of luck to you and don't hesitate to post when you have questions about what ever you decide to buy!!

Thank you so much, Folks! I really appreciate all of your advice, help and suggestions!

Hellen, you made a valid point about trying to replace my analogs with exact replicas. While I do not want to have a stick in my mouth that looks like it was dropped in a bottle of neon, day-glow paint, I will definitely look into the various others like the box and 'Chuck'. Most of the time, I prefer not to be in a situation where I'm openly puffing away. I used the sample one when I had to go to the hospital for day surgery last week. Just a few puffs with the ecig held in a fist was very satisfying. The batteries on that one seem to last for days! Hearing that a thin ecig's batteries wouldn't even last all day is shocking! I hadn't thought about battery time, but after someone mentioning it, I realize that I definitely want a strong, long lasting battery!

So, I'm going to re-read the reviews and look more into the various types of e-cigs before making any big mistakes. I'm trying to look more into the future and see what I could use down the road a bit without worrying about getting a 'pretty' one that will drive me nuts because it isn't satisfying & doesn't have great, long lasting batteries! And this is all because of the wonderful vapors that helped me!

I also noticed that some folks received their packages very quickly, while others took weeks to get. Does anyone have some suggestions on which supplier is quick to mail your order to you? I'd like to find a trustworthy supplier I can always count on to deliver my needed goods to me quickly.

Thanks so much everyone! Your comments & suggestions really made me think more about the future and what my needs will be then rather than just what I want now. I like to hear about the differences between the ecig and analogs when it comes to use, drag, etc.

Thank you for being so helpful to this newbie! I really appreciate your time and trouble!!

The batt life is my biggest issue. I hadn't thought about it when I ordered my M402... and now I wish I would have went with the JantyStick, Prodigy, "Chuck" or other long life options. Right now I'm grabbing opinions on these, trying to make a final decision. I'm leaning towards the Prodigy because of the commonly found batteries they use, and the fact it comes with a charger and such.

I do plan on buying a few manual M401 batts for my current kit. I like this kit for work. I usually only go out for a smoke once in an 8 hour shift, so the short batt life is a non-issue for the 10 minute drive to and from work, and the one maybe 5 minute smoke break I take. I think it's also the kit I'll take during my walks and bike rides.

The Chuck and Little Chuck both use standard batteries. Either the 18650 or the 16340. Jeff also does stock batteries and chargers too.
